Hey it's Tuesday February 23 isn't it...guess I should play this when my current album is done playing.

Um yes new track is smokin'. On the one hand it's very similar to older material, in other words not bringing anything new to the table, on the other hand, who gives a fuck when it rocks!

on first listen to new track, meh.

I think they do a good job of being consistent without alienating their fans (except for Pink Cellphone)

sorry i cant take this seriously anymore... ive heard stuff that is way better, this is just mediocre, it was fun back then though, but they havent progressed at all.

Hehe...I know it sounds stupid to bitch, but the band's giving the song away free themselves...they could at least make it decent quality, they're trying to promote it. If I stole it from a P2P of course, you get what you pay for...

Yes, can't wait! I hope it will be an improvement on SNW, which I think is their weakest album to date. Was listening to the S/T the other day and there's some really excellent tracks + production on that album. So glad they're back with Terry Date too.

Hopefully Eros will get a release at some point because the snippets I heard sounded good too.

I wouldn't even really consider CMND/CTRL all that silly.

I used to the biggest fan of Deftones this forum will ever know guaranteed, don't even know where to start with all of the depressing & slightly positive topical things to say about em now. I guess I kinda feel weird even thinking about their current music (not complaining, its still better than 90% of alternative metal) and situation. I dunno, probably will come back to this thread when I'm not so tired.

Royal, Team Sleep already has a song called King Diamond

Prince also fits under this category of repetitive track naming

Beauty School, what could they possibly know or say about beauty school? but knowing Deftones it wont be mentioned anywhere in the track and is most likely an instrumental

Rocket Skates is a silly idea you see in cartoons

This Place is Death, something I doubt anyone would actually use is a conversation (mildly nonsensical?)

Do you analyze every band's or artist's track names for real world application?

i never understood people who got upset at song titles without hearing them. i remember when 10,000 days was coming out, people were losing their minds over the song titles. "The Pot? zomg, tool sold out now they're writing about smoking weed? maynard hates smoke, what a dick..yada yada yada. oh wait, its called the pot like kettle/pot blackness?"

Theres a lot of guitarists in the metal world right now ripping Meshuggah's style off right now but Meshuggah's mega low tuning with ultra kewl rhythmic groove's is kind of like a new dynamic in insanity to be fair. I was actually having a convo a few weeks ago about funny it is how many guitarists in metal right now are just completely regurgitating Meshuggah but no seems to think its a plagiarism but somehow its not frowned upon at all really.

lol, listening to the album now, there's a few songs were the guitars are even more ultra Meshuggah rip off's than I ever expected. Chino sounds a bit better than I was worried about yeah, this is no return to form but I'm sure a few songs on this record will be pleasant surprise's, o well not complaining, I'm glad they are still making music (again they are still better than 90% of alternative metal bands)
