Aphex Twin Aphex did release a complete CD full of new tracks in december

it's hard to imagine the life .. having Warp as your bitch and doing at your own pace. (prolific lol). i don't blame Warp though - it is totally understood.

To return to the OP (sort of), as I remember there was a bit of excitement over the extra Analords. I just think it got swept up with the hysteria of the revamped Rephlex site, new albums by Wisp, Aleksi Perala etc. I was glad to hoover all of them up (I would've bought them without any bonuses just to have them in the best quality possible), but I can fully understand why people would be aggrieved that they weren't for sale individually.

I mean what is it like 3.50 for one of the analords? Analord 11 has like 4 or 5 new tracks, its a bargain getting the whole thing for £3.50.

I think it is because analord is just a void he doesn't need to fill any more for a lot of people. I like analord, but my aphex craving is still most satisfied with drukqs. Tuss comes close though, people are just waiting for "that album".

He's a clever fellow is Mr James. He can release shitloads of new music under a slightly different alias (AFX not Aphex) which sounds the same but doesn't read the same. No matter, even though there is a truckload of Analords and some Tuss he can still fuel massive interest in himself and his music because it doesn't say Aphex Twin on the tin, and arrive on the Warp label. i did buy chosen lords, but he has not gotten any of my money since that. if he played in boston i'd pay to see it, and if he puts out a real album, i'll buy it.

(would also buy future rephlex releases by other artists such as jodey kendrick, but that's kind of besides the point as it is "not an aphex twin album" right?)

I'am waiting for Richards bitches Jodey Kendrick and Monolith to make some moves on the rephlex front.

i agree what someone said early in this thread and that was that the new analord's weren't released on a physical medium hence not quite being the same as other eps lps

Uhhhh, i kind of doubt it. Hes DJing all over the place at shitty parties he probably doesn't want to be at, so he probably needed fast money. I'm sure there will be something soon.

He's "secured" as he said, since 99 or before. Anyway money or not I don't trust in Aphex Twin anymore, it is past now.

i think moneys are not really a big issue for him. i seriously doubt he's struggling. he doesn't need to be djing at all, but probably enjoys it. and for the big cash i don't blame him either.

Whether or not you like Drukqs, I think most people will agree it sounds like he spent a lot of time on it. Doesn't really strike me as nostalgia or filler at all.

As for the demystifying thing, I think that has more to do with the internet & the rise of free vsts (which for many people probably simplified a lot of things about electronic music production which had previously been mysterious).

He's not going to announce a release date cause why have a deadline for something? He admits he's lazy, he loves making music, he apparently releases material thats already a few years old, he's rich... he'll release something soonish I think. The real question is what direction he will go after a decade of no Aphex Twin releases. Drukqs 2 would be very tasty.

We want new tracks! Not unreleased old tracks...

Ok you're kind of right I'll say 2001-2010 then. Hmm for the internet and vsts etc, I'm into music production (You'd laugh if you were in the future) with all those programs you can do "anything" with, and SAWII never seemed so mysterious to me (although I suspect it's more sequenced dictaphone music than synths...).

Now The Tuss too much persons can reach that point easily, I know he never claimed to be superior respect for that but musically he passed from God mode to average mode.

Everybody seems to seek and enjoy 'underground averageness', it even scares me sometimes. When will there be something else than goa trance on fantasy-scenery parties ? That would be wicked !
