Absolutely thrilled. Spain were brilliant today and Germany were flatter than hammered shit.

Now, that being said, WTF was with the Del Bosque substitution of Villa for Torres? Yes, Villa was tired, but Torres looked even SLOWER than a tired Villa. I'd also like to personally kick Pedro in the nuts for blowing that scoring chance that would have ensured a comfortable 2-0 lead with minutes to spare. Maybe I shouldn't be so harsh though. After all, it was Torres accompanying him on the run.

I do feel badly for Diego Forlan - I think he's been one of the class acts of this world cup.

He was astonishing, really. I'm glad he got a goal in the final stand for Uruguay.

Fucking Pedro, had the chance to put the game away, but had to get fancy instead of passing to the lone Torres. What an idiot!

I almost had a heart attack in the final few minutes.

I wouldn't agree nessecarily. I just think Spain completely outplayed them. Though, that said Khadeira was useless, he should have been subbed much earlier. Germany's strength is their passing game and counter attack, but every time they got the ball Spain were fucking everywhere - they had no chance to move.

It's a crying shame, I would have loved to see Klose score a couple.

Resting Villa with 10 minutes to go wasn't such a bad tactic i thought, they were reasonably comfortable at that point I thought, and Torres just needs more minutes to hopefully find his form.

Puyol is a meathead, and good to see David Silva getting a run out, if brief.

Also both Holland and Spain have full squads for the final, quality :emb:

Klose can score his record breaking goals in the bronze game. I was really surprised how flat Germany looked, I guess that's how you look when the other team has the ball most of the time. But would have expected them to apply at least some pressure on Spain.

Both the finalists deserve to be where they are. Played their best games in the semis.

Deserved win for Spain. I'm really looking forward towards sunday. It's going to be an exciting match. The world's probably expecting Spain to win, but I'm not so sure about that. It won't be the first obvious world cup winner the Dutch will send home.

Who're you rooting for in the final?

For some reason I can't ever bring myself to support Spain. Maybe because I had a fucking nightmarish "holiday" there once.

I've been rooting for Spain the whole tournament and will be rooting for them in the finals. But I wouldn't be too disappointed if NED wins. At least we'll be getting a spanking new champion in the World Cup.

that's what I was thinking. pity. poor mr. Löw (Germany's coach), he looked pretty sad in the interview, but then he always looks kinda sad. better not tell him I picked Ghana over his team though next time he's around. He's been to my mom's restaurant a couple of times, I've never met him though.

Now I can't decide about Spain or Holland. I hope Germany beats Uruguay though, I'm still pissed about that handplay thing against Ghana.

Same.

It comes down to personalities and there are a few too many Dutch I can't stand. Robben, Van Pussy, Van Bommel....cunts. Somewhat offset, however, by my love of Sneijder, Kuyt, and Von Bronckhorst, so I would be perfectly happy with the Dutch winning.

I just think Xavi and Iniesta have had fantastic tournaments, especially Iniesta.

today spain played great... it is amazing, spain the final of a worldcup

we had missed so many times.... I just cant believe it

these are my memories since I watch football:

1986 beligum send us home 1/4s

1990 yugoslavia send us home 1/8s

1994 italy send us home 1/4s

1998 we dont even get to the final stage

2002 korea send us home 1/4s

2006 france send us home 1/8s

whatever happens this sunday, this time we didnt underachieve

viva espana! my favourites from the start. they will outclass holland on sunday just like they did with germany.

also re: david villa - they seem to be playing him too central... he's better playing wide and cutting in... he ran himself into the ground last night, but was getting brick-walled 2 on 1, so i couldn't fault the substitution. but torres wtf!? he looks like a rabbit in the headlights.
