Been a CAD Drafter for about 10 years...working on something big for 2015...

I work for a biotech company in Boston manufacturing drugs mainly for hemophilia type a and multiple sclerosis, as well as a few others that are in various stages of clinical development. Long story short, it goes down like this:

The cell culture department scales up cells in bioreactors (picture a sci-fi brewery) and gets them to release a specific protein. After all that fun stuff, it gets piped over to purification, the department I work in.

We basically run the drug substance through a bunch of fancy filters to remove host cell proteins, DNA, viruses, and various solutions used in the processes. We also document and sample the shit out of everything up until it is finally bottled. It ends up being 10-20 liters of slightly frothy liquid worth somewhere around a billion$ on tha streetz.

We work in clean rooms all gowned up. Some of the processes take place in cold rooms so it can be a lil chilly depending on what you're doing.

It's a good way to make hunnid stax and it's quite IDM at times.

worked in a call centre then as a large format digital printer straight after high school (18-21 yrs old). Did a bunch of underpaid shit before that to buy guitars and synths during school..

Been to uni for 2 years, deferred because who the fuck needs a design degree from a second rate uni, i get occasional work but im just not a photoshop/illustrator dude.

On the doll now, getting paid to dj most weekends and often on a thursday, lucky to score a few residencies in some decent clubs with cool guys and clubs that pay alright. Plenty of time to work on new records/work on how the fuck to get music off the ground with records out/forthcoming.

deciding if its possible to find a job ill enjoy/regretting letting music becoming an overwhelming obsession.

Looking for some dropkick job, with hundreds of others who actually need it to help their families, just so i can fund a modular, get some better gear and hopefully start a record label by the end of the year.

Programmer, I deal with banking gateways, credit card security, encryption, PCI-DSS compliance. Right now I'm writing credit rating software for big fat merchant banks. Oh the money!
