I thought last nights episode was really good. We got an interesting look at Pete as he starts becoming what Don used to be/going on a downward spiral/dealing with his realization that doing better in the company won't change his life and make him happy.

yeah, this is the most engaging plotline in this season, so far.

10 p.m. is time for teeth-brushing, beddy-bye and story time -- and I don't even have a kid!

I thought it represented a trip pretty well. Was randomly cool with having Roger trip w/ Dr. Leary. Really enjoyed the last two episodes!

I am sure most people who have tried LSD were cringing at the way they depicted the visual aspect but the mental/social side of the trip was pretty good. Rogers hallucinogenic experience would have been pretty spot on for a dramamine trip.

The rest of the episode was nice and dark.

lol I didn't know watmm had a thread about mad men. I started watching at 3rd season so I haven't seen the first two seasons. Actually it's the first series that i like watching and doesn't bore the shit out of me. Probably because I was in advertising business myself.

I loved it when Roger said it's a boring party, and the next moment he finds it funny while opening the bottle. I liked the cigarette part too.

BUT, there was this scene some episodes ago (or was it the previous, i don't remember anymore), where Joan and her viet-medic-husband had a dinner with his parents... A young private comes saluting, and his name is Blackburn... It was like a deja-vu from Black Hawk Down...there too was this young, naive novice guy named Blackburn who fell out of the helicopter... I think there are some weird details in scenes which are rather suspicious... Blackburn = burn the black. And a poster near Peggy's boyfriend that has "Washington....the freedom" emphasized (the rest it blacked out).... I think this kind of subtle propaganda shows itself more often that it should....What do you think?

Very true, I just think it would be rather hard to emulate the visuals of a trip and keep your "average viewer" sane. The time and mental effects like the bottle singing, and the time distortion were well done. However, I was especially disappointed when they said "don't look in the mirror" and it had no apparent effect on Roger. Still fun to watch though.

yea I just watched this week's episode myself. absolutely fantastic. best episode of the season. the trip scenes were ok, could have been better but were good though. the whole thing was definitely dark and definitely a place they need to explore more. seems like this season is coming around now.

Not that I was expecting it to be accurate depiction or anything hah I guess no movie really ever seems to come close but.. Enter The Void kinda portrayed a similar vibe (anything else y'all can think of that got closer?) but still far from being nostalgicly similiar but, I gotta say that was a pretty horrible representation of the type of visual hallucinations you get from L S D or any psychedelic I've tried for that matter.

The instantly smoked cig was the funniest part by far.

Plus the accompanying accordion SFX. Flawless gag execution.
