Sometimes it's not just that simple - imagine if you spent all afternoon cooking a roast, and then when taking it out of the oven to say, baste it with it's own juices, it somehow fell onto the floor, getting ruined in the process - how quickly would you be re-making the roast in time for dinner, let alone the time you'll spend cleaning up the mess? Like making an album, that's a potentially huge undertaking, and not something you approach lightly. I am sure the album will be deserving of the wait and the time took to ensure it's exactly what BoC want released for the fans to consume.

True, but if we're using that analogy, you still have a large number of guests excited about dinner who are still going to arrive quite hungry, and while you're recooking the roast, you could pull some of your abundance of delicious leftovers out of your freezer that your guests are well aware you have, heat them up, add some spices and tide over your famished guests until the amazing roast is done. :whistling:

Yes, but sometimes the chef(s) are dead-set on delivering a full-course fresh meal, rather than re-heating leftovers. Chefs are funny like that in they are all about their latest creations, rather than cooking the same old thing over and over and serving it up to the masses, be they hungry or not.

they must have one very well fed dog with a serious cholesterol problem after four years of roasts.

Or, a very slow-cooking roast - you know the longer it's in there, generally the better the outcome is. I love it when meat just falls off the bone.

that depends entirely on oven temperature, environmental temperature, starting temperature of the meat, not to mention oven geometry, meat thickness and so on. and you gotta sear first. i would wager that the sandisons are master basters, so i'd assume there's plenty of that as well. i'm more of a spice rub man, myself.

oh and a roast that takes four years to cook is either a) a brontosaurus or b) spoiled.

Indeed, a four year old roast would be rather disgusting, but a record with 22 or so tracks across two CDs in a deluxe gatefold package with inserts and custom photography by PIC made over four years would be fucking fantastic.

I am going to a naked Highland jig around the back garden!

No doubt some internet dweeb will start writing ponderous, melodramatic complaints about something they aint happy with. Well fuck them. Those cunts can go and find something else to bitch about.

No doubt it will be released sometime late in the year as the lads have to get some nice new photo's of themselves in wooly hats, under crisp clear winter sunsets LoL. So I guess December.

C'mon!

November.

There's a part of me that says that the lads must take all the time they need to make it as they want. And then there's the part screaming for new material. And then there's the third one playing the tune from Tetris.

Yes, schizophrenia is entertaining.

If the new release is indeed this, I might actually jizz my pants once it's in my hand

If they only bring out a box set of their greatest tracks, and a few new ones, I'd be happy. A new album.....even better.

I agree. The more time it takes for them to record, the better the music will be.

Well I've heard all of BOC's stuff, and I must say, very little of it is shit.

Anyway I see you are from New Zealand. I'm originally from there (Wellington). Over in Australia now. Whereabouts in NZ are you from?

The only stuff by them them I'm not totally crazy about was some of the stuff they didn't actually want to release - Old Tunes, etc.

Obviously the new stuff will melt everybody's face.

i really don't understand the "mystique" surrounding BOC anymore. for the first album or two it was exciting but now it's like:

2001: in the studio

2009: a knob hath been turned 'pon the secret machine/not machine but instrument made with organics and fire

2014: in the studio...

2020: they are brothers! NO WAY!

2100: BOC

2111: bonfire

2155: mysterious post may/may not be official alluding to sunsets, blurred photography, turquoise, backwards masking (what IS THAT?), subliminal.

2220: fifth BOC maybe this year. *JOREX makes vague comment not really substantiating this*

2313: autumn

2314: nostalgic samples and chords, tape warble, sesame street

3400: fourth BOC scrapped

6400: guitars added

just stfu and wait for the album

Lol, agree with every word. Though I am sure it will be worth the wait. I'd rather them be quietly busy making music than dicking around in the press or whatever. If what Joyrex says is true, things will get fever pitch soon and all the rantings and ravings will be forgotten.

Patience is a virtue.

This should go in the BOC forum Guidelines.

EDIT: Actually it could probably go in Aphex subber too.

Nelson. Did you move for work?

Yeah something like that. Also, got friends over here I can stay with.

Anyways, I agree with what someone said earlier about patience. Its hard to be patient though sometimes when all you want to hear is new stuff, especially from a fucking legendary band like BOC, who deserve more recognition.
