the luke vibert sample spotting thread

Seems to be a fairly prominent sample in old school hip-hop, perhaps already common knowledge, but 6:33 in this:

is at 0:23 (and throughout) in this:

Little easier to tell it's the same sample in something like this (0:27):

I can't hear this one. Do you mean the woofing percussion hit, or the guitar hit that follows it?

It's electric trumpet actually! But yeah, that brief screech sound. Just sounds a bit reverby on the Plug track compared to the hip-hop tracks I've heard sample it.

My bad, the Plug track samples this (at the very beginning):

The Outkast track samples Miles Davis.

Blackcurrant has just uploaded a new one with the famous voice that Vibert sampled in about 100 tracks

@3:17 - 3:28 for example

Can any of you tell me where the "No no no no well well well" sample is from that he uses all the time? (Such as in Officer's Club, Multiple Stab Wounds, etc)

Nah, you're a wee child who can't wait for official release. Embarrassing. Shove your privilege.

Jean Pierre Mirouze - Sexopolis

@0:58 (sampled in a Plug track, I think from the 'new' album)

@1:12 (more of that)

Manchild - We Need We at 3:05

Plug - Yes Man

Also racking my brains here, but which Vibert track samples this other Manchild track? Doing my head in trying to place it

The very beginning is a sample on Chi Redruth Detroit track too, right? that little piano flourish

Yeah the piano flourish is also in that same Yes Man track, around 4.10. I'm sure it crops up in some other vibert trax.

Great finds sirs:)

Here's a Big Soup one in the first few seconds, really chuffed about stumbling on this one!

"I wrote this when I was on the moon" from Bizarster is a Legendary Stardust Cowboy sample from his 1984 album. I can't find a version of it anywhere online however.

You can hear some of the Forbidden Planet soundtrack at around 3 minutes into the same track. I suspect there's other elements of it used, but I don't actually have the album (one for the shopping list I think); I just know this particular piece because of the Pete Rock connection.

^ Forbidden Planet soundtrack is definitely worth it imo.

Pretty sure this was posted once already, but if not:
