in 7:44 (plug, visible crater funk ep), from 4:59-5:45 you can hear what sounds like someone whispering "heh heh heh heh"

it reappears in aphex's "taking control" from 4:04-4:40

so who is it? vibert? aphex? someone else?

lol nice find. I imagine they share samples so could be either

about 3:00 in the new Daydreaming track too. sometimes I think i should probably collate these into bi-weekly posts, thoughts?

about 3:14 in that new Ecstasy track.

I think Luke sampled that song via Meat Beat Manifesto "Radio Babylon" which uses that Troeg's song, also contains the "burning with ecstasy" sample, of course Luke remixed this MBM track as well

k it's been a week

As seen in Thameslick by Amen Andrews.

As seen in Ecstasy by Luke Vibert (it took a little thinking to figure out who that voice was, skip to 2:17)

As seen in Reciever by Wagon Christ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JajMjiqDduM

Also in Reciever, and undoubtedly the original source given it A: has an acapella and B: was done in 1990. Others posted here with these vocals are in 91.

As seen in Sho U Rite by Kerrier District (which unusually isn't on Youtube)

due to the presence of dap walk + hook and boogie (both of which are sampled on Mind Bending by Plug, courtesy of this thread + whosampled) we can safely hypothesize that Mr. Vibert had this compilation in about 95'.

Just saw this post now. That Dap Walk track is especially great, I think I heard it on a liveset/radioset by Luke recently too (I was listening loads of them so I have no idea which one)

Too lazy to check if this has been posted already (must've been?) and to check in which Vibert track it's sampled exactly, but I hear some Vibert stuff in this (especially in the first 5 seconds, but maybe more?)

I'm not recalling it from anywhere in particular; and no, it hasn't been posted. New to me. That kind of organ sound crops up a bit in his latter work but I'd imagine that's a Reason preset he's doctored. It definitely sounds like his sort of thing though. Any idea roundabout where it is?

Haha, damn, I had high hopes you'd recognize it. I think I confused it with Super Value's LTJ 09a edit of this track, but it sounded too Vibertian to me. Maybe a future sample for the man then...

Gonna bring this thread back, because I'm dying to know where he managed to get those samples of the kid talking in Kwikwidetrax. The first sample is pretty simple, but how'd he manage to find a kid saying (albeit a bit incomprehensibly) "Luke Vibert," "Wagon Christ!" I just fucking love those samples. Did he get his kids to say it?

Also anyone know if the opening melody in Tomach is a sample or just something he wrote?

Yeah must be his kids. They appear sometimes, doing voices or artwork (Ace Of Clubs covers for example).

Anyway, just heard two new tracks that were obviously sampled by Vibert, but forgot how one is called so I can't post it... but this is at least one:

shouts out to my main man Blackcurrant, who is the main source of Luke Vibert samples over on Whosampled, and who has kindly dug up those Sonovox tracks for all of us to hear.

http://www.whosampled.com/Luke-Vibert/Marvellous-Music-Machine/samples/

he also caught that Eleventy One samples from the same album,

http://www.whosampled.com/sample/276811/Luke-Vibert-Eleventy-One-Ray-Anderson-Solid-Gold/

there's still a couple missing but I'm going to go on Soulseek and see if I can put up the remainders.

i can't find any audio readily, but given the track titles in http://www.discogs.com/East-Anglian-Productions-100-Sonovox-Jingles/release/3977743 it's undoubtedly the source of the sonovox vocals in Marvellous Music Machine

Yeah its from this album :) i got it

Edited by Guest

probably mentioned but isn't the vocals from Nighty Night off of Planet of the Apes?

Woa, nice! Just catching up with this thread, so much good stuff :)

And yeah, the Planet of the Apes one here:

i live in perpetual hope of finding that "messages of soul with a solid beat" sample; that's my personal vibert grail

I don't have that today, instead I have a vocal sample from kwikwidetrax which he probably got in a sample pack anyway

good song though
