the luke vibert sample spotting thread

Recommended Posts

It's certainly not obvious to me. It's not a sample I'd heard anywhere else, like some of the more common vocal ones (looking at Feel Good Party Time, here).

A Google search brought up the "mind bending chemicals" one at 0:22, though.

You probably know about the Solstice sample by Brian Bennett in the song Tally Ho!

But do you know about this one? Vibert has a habit of using the same artists in the same songs, it seems. Probably due to physical limitations when he was back using his sampler, whatever came to hand.

Also, nobody cares about this thread but me. I should change my usertitle to reflect this.

The Chemical Brothers also used that at the beginning of this DJ mix, always wondered about the source

Just found out one of my favorite Vibert basslines (A Soft Quietude) is taken from none other than James Brown.

Me too, one of his best. Still need to get that one on wax.

be careful not to by the promo version of the wax... I did so, without checking the tracklist, and it doesn't have that track on it... The regular release does though, however.

what's the woman's voice sampled in the intro of Wagon Christ - Cris Chana?

Probably already discussed, I haven't actually followed this thread all that closely, but I came across this video and noticed a few things...

I'm sure this is just a case of both artists sampling from the same source, what ever that is, at 1:49

You mean Jimmy McGriff - The Worm? I could think of quite a few artists who've used it. :)

That's awesome solarion!

Sort of related. What is the sample from Box Energy when he says, "When I took that E I was like....I'mma do this again....I'mma do this again."

There will be new love from the ashes of us.
