yeah, the old launcher will connect to minecraft.net (thanks haldermaniac!) but the new one won't. odd.

its connecting for me now, so do NO texture packs work or just this fancy shmancy HD one ?

Any interesting seeds for the world generator? Or is it just some value that it bases the randomization on?

painterly is the same resolution as the default pack afaik, so it will work.

higher-resolution packs like angelcraft (below) - which require a separate HD patcher utility - will not work.

if you use the same seed, you'll get the same world. but i haven't messed with it yet.

i gave kokoon a message about updating the server. I don't like hassling him about it but.... i er..ahem..like minecraft a bit

i saw him in the thread a little while back, i'm sure he's aware of it.

32768 is pretty; actually in the future could be an interesting competition. everyone takes the same seed and sees who can make the nicest building near the spawn

server updated. but my ISP is having some troubles tonight, i called them and they said it's a country-wide problem. not sure if it affects connectivity issues though.

It will be interesting to see how the procedural algorithms evolve by using the same seed on different version.

I hope the HD Texture pack problem gets fixed. I was using Mixcraft because I can't stand the default Glass texture.

if you guys want a really good texture pack you should check out PAINTERLY

its customizable , its not "HD" but it looks a heck of a lot better than the original stuff and in my opinion much better than the hd stuff.

i think the hd stuff is just too bland and really doesnt suit the blocky nature of the game..

but yea here you go , i will post the one i made if you want to try it and see how you like it, or you can just go thru and customize it yourself..

found out more about the 'bed issue' people were experiencing.

if your house has an open entrance to the outside world, mobs can kill you in your sleep. either put the bed on a floor above the ground floor in your house, or make it in an enclosed space (i.e. with a door)
