Honestly, BoC should have just announced that they had broken up so everyone wouldn't have expected anything more, and when (if) we got it we'd all be (potentially) happily surprised. As it is, many of us feel like the dog who runs after the ball that was pretended to be thrown but is still in the master's hand, chasing something that's promised but continuously not delivered.

As for the release "not being up to par", the longer they wait to give us anything, the higher the chances that expectations will be greater considering how long it took. Do people actually record a bunch of music that they like just fine while putting it together and then when it's done decide that suddenly it sucks?

I still have no earthly idea why the ages ago promised box set of old material seems no closer to reality. I feel the same way I do about heaven: I really hope it exists and I get to see it, but I'm afraid that I won't.

very true.

most likely: they are playing too much minecraft

least likely: they can't decide which angle they want the album to be

more people will accept and enjoy campfire after this new release. so even if they released it this year, the new album wont be good until 2015 at least.

If they haven't run out of nostalgic shit to sample then they want to completely fade into obscurity before returning with something mindbending. But judging out from the enthusiastic fans here and about, it looks like obscurity is light years away.

I would be surprised if BOC have anything to do with VHS Head. I listened to the latest VHS album and was far from impressed.

It would probably disappoint me if it was show to be the case.

well they don't and that is that. :)

Think BOC will ever dump Warp? Use Music70 to release music. I assume they have the money.

Why would they dump WARP? Music70 is just an imprint, like Men Records on Rephlex is...

Where's the 'They became fat, lazy and complacent and realised they didn't need the money anymore' option?

Never mind that, what about something new from LFO?

It's already been seven years.

Agreed, this is much more important.

Well, if Warp is indeed responsible for the delay, it'd make sense.

Otherwise, I guess it doesn't. :emb:

So if the music was more important than money, would it not matter if they put it out through Music70? Unless they want to still claw in more capitol, hence Warp might yet be of some use.

That's kind of where I was getting at, but, if Warp isn't causing them problem I don't see the point in BOC releasing under Music70.

It'd be nice if they'd release some of their old shit under Music70 and released new material under Warp. No point in trying to make a profit off of material only fan boys will aprecciate.

i doubt Warp is causing them any problem really. if they had any new stuff/album from BoC i reckon they'd put it out asap.

as for themselves putting out their music, i think that'd be a lot of hassle for them and also cost a lot. there's all the promo/artwork/printing/mastering/pressing, etc. etc. and there'd be extremely high demand. i don't really see Boards as the type to

take all that on by themselves. they're artists not business men. i think as soon as they have something they'll give it to Warp

and let them take care of all that busy ness shiat. same with Aphex Twin.

I'd think that the dog peeing on the master tapes would be a fortunate event, I am sure it would add to the vintage wobbly sound they are after.
