Ahh, the smug superiority of the middle classes.

It's not class, it's a cultural thing. Chavs just have absolutely no taste from my perspective and i suspect that's one of the main reasons they get shit. If it was all about class, you'd see homeless people and people in poverty getting mocked even more than chavs but they don't. It's about taste mostly.

For example if you took someone who was middle class and a chav they would get just as much shit. In fact there are middle class chavs and they are perceived exactly the same as all other chavs.

Its a stick to hit the working class with as theres is no definition, just some lose terms pointed in their direction, which range from sports clothing, trackies and boots to petty criminals. What exactly has Wayne Rooney done, except have a slightly rubbish education. Never heard Frank Bough get working class labels thrown at him for wearing Pringle and fucking prostitutes.

Its think its a wider problem than the word chav, modern comedy is mostly about bashing the uneducated and cultureless working classes and dole scroungers seem to be easy targets for raising peoples sense of self, as if so poor bastard taking £30 a week is crippling the country.
