Another year, another Halloween mix, this time inspired by Italian Giallo films a la Dario Argento. As you can probably guess from that, Goblin figures heavily, as well as some of the freakier prog and psychedelic tracks I've come across over the years. It was fun to do something a little different than my normal IDM/dubstep/ambient heavy Halloween mixes, although they still play an important part in this year's mix. Listen in the dark and enjoy!

Haha, a little trick I picked up from BOC :emotawesomepm9:

I honestly waited all year for this!

Not sure whether I'm gonna listen before I got my own Halloween mix finished or not, I'll hopefully post it within the next two or three days. I'm definitely gonna play Wake of Buzzards at my Halloween party this time along with my own mix.

I'll give feedback once I've hear the new one.

Bump for Halloween weekend.

Finally I've listened to the whole mix again. I played it on the 31st while finishing my project thing and working all over the place, so I couldn't really pay attention then. I would have played it at the party but due to all the delays and stuff breaking I didn't even have time to set up the stereo for external input. Then I've played the mix a good five times when riding my bike through town but I always arrived earlier than expected so I never got to hear all of it. But now I have heard it all properly, so let me say a couple of things quickly.

A couple months back I had this weird dream about Six' next mix being called "Fallout Shelter", and then he told me it would be a rather fitting name as he was going to put some oldschool movie score tracks in there. So I was kind of prepared for it but there still were some surprises, I didn't look at the tracklist, so The Shining theme was cool. There's one in it, around 43:00, I'm not sure about, it took me ages to figure out and I'm still not 100% on where I know it from, is it Poltergeist? I'm digging the track starting at 16:10, especially the beat at the very beginning. I got off the bike and took some pictures while it was on, there was this intense fog that suddenly appeared last week, really suited the atmosphere.

Thanks guys! Awepittance, your track fit this mix perfectly, it was one of the first I decided on when I picked the theme so cheers!

Terpentintollwut, glad you enjoyed it! Didn't end up going full on with the post apocalypse theme but there are definitely shades of it throughout the mix. The track at 16 minutes is Shlohmo - Crust. He normally does wonky stuff or tracks in the style of Babe Rainbow, but this early track of his is just so damn spooky. The track at 43 minutes is Wendy Carlos, a major figure in early electronic music. Probably best known for the scores to Clockwork Orange and The Shining, but this track is actually from the original Tron, I believe when he's being sucked into the game.
