i have so many coats i don't know how many. most are packed up. for the season i'm wearing a timberland water repellent shell. it has a warm liner and if it gets super cold i just wear a sweatshirt under it. i pretty much collect coats, that and hats, and records

i have a tweed ben sherman coat that i love

i usually like to layer in the winter. i wear a lot of sweaters over shirts under coats. i haven't had a big super warm jacket for awhile because of this. i find it more comfortable and easier to control my temperature.

The latest craze with the hipsters in my area involves taking an old, almost crusty with age, hoodless sweat shirt, cut a v neck, and wear it inside out.

Peacoats are pretty timeless. You can pick one up at an army navy surplus store. Or you can pay like $300 at a designer store.

I still don't understand the purpose of vests. My girlfriend bought me one, and aside from looking like a bearded Marty McFly, I couldn't figure out what purpose it actually served. My arms were cold.

through the years, a man peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, tools, stars, horses and people. shortly before his death, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the image of his own face.

vests are for layering. i love them. i like to wear mine when i'm chopping wood in the backyard. makes me feel manly. i have 2 fleece vests and 1 down one, they are indespensible.

It's a philosophy. A way of life. Ever wanted to play outdoor badminton in the winter months? It also allows you steer a cold vehicle with extremely limited space either side of you. But most importantly, it allows you to confidently point at far away objects. You are safe. You are free. You know what you want and you know how to get it.

layering what? why not just wear a jacket....that has sleeves? I have to layer every day in autumn/winter for like 6 months straight..just jackets, sweaters, thermals, etc. I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND VESTS!

If you're talking about a suit or blazer, I agree - double-breasted looks weird on more or less everybody who isn't over 45 or built like a rugby player. But for a coat I think it's actually much better looking and easier to pull off for almost all outfits. Wearing a single-breasted coat this year still feels a bit weird to me.

in the winter i would wear an undershirt, button down shirt, zip sweater and then a vest. i don't wear one everyday but at least 1 or 2 times a week. i find it very comfortable. good for shoveling too.

If you want to feel manly while chopping wood just dont even wear a shirt. :spiteful:

It doesn't get very cold where I'm at now so a down vest and a thermal shirt is adequate during the day. At night I just put a hoodie on over it.

I'm still wearing a tshirt. I was out raking leaves the other day in a tshirt. coast life is so damn warm. winter is going to be 2 inches of snow for a day and some rain.
