left it over night. best score is about 320.

the problem with this is you get cars that are very suited to the beginning of the track, but fail miserably later on. and all the cars that would survive the later parts fail on the early parts.

anyone else started to name them based on their appearance?

No names, but I do find myself mumbling "derrrp" at some of them that has 0 chance of survival (like ones that spawn upside down).

this is like the slowest GA ever. looks like the cars reproduce asexually, i.e. it's based solely on mutation?

The first generation are all single-coloured. Later generations use those colours to show you what parts they inherited from the first generation.

i played around with this yesterday but i was transcoding a video and also streaming to the ps3 and it overheated my box. just screwed around with it a bit more, set the mutation rate to 100%. lol it gets nowhere at all. 25.7 was the highest in 11 generations. just ridiculously stupid designs, love it.

ironically the one that made it the farthest did it all on one wheel, and it was luck alone that propelled it that far.

fuck off!

you can compare eachothers distances and all, but only if you realize the tracks are generated random each time you start at generation zero....

watch out for the hill at 200!!!
