p. sure we all realize that nitpicking isn't going to bring anything back

but it sure is fun!

just to summarize:

- no more porn threads. cool. tentatively hopeful gaarg-class mspaint will still be allowed.

- please just enable posting in nonsense/crap. then move threads there all you want, sans copyright violation, hateful speech, NSFW, etc. which can rightly be closed/deleted.

- chaos for board admin 2012.

I'm new here, but I think it's a good idea to disallow pr0n on these forums, because eventually if Joyrex wanted to get Google Ad's on the site, I'm pretty sure Google only allows their ad's to be published on sites with no adult content. Bringing in that revenue would allow the site to really grow and hopefully bring back the sweet front page that I remember from back in the day. A win-win.

Anyway, I guess I'll wait to see if this actually is an April Fools prank before I get worked up about what would be a pretty sad case of forced censorship. I never was a regular visitor of the tits thread (that butts-thread, however ... ), but it's obvious how this would be about much more than those.

Might I add how repulsive the idea of classifying/censoring "nudity" is in general? It's something I'm glad we don't have in Germany. I'm not talking about gaping assholes, I'm talking about mere naked human bodies. Things that get an R rating for nudity in the US can even get an FSK 0 (G rating) here, and that's how it should be. It seems to me it's considered more appropriate in the US for a child to see a severed head than a bare breast. And that makes me wonder where the fuck this whole idea of "decency" is heading.

Really not bothered about the demise of the porn threads - never participated in them, don't really think they need to be here, and I've always felt kind of uncomfortable with that kind of leering laddishness. Good riddance.

I'm glad that NSFW/weird posts will still be allowed in the context of good threads, but I'm also glad that the 4chanisation of WATMM has been recognised and hopefully halted a bit. It's hardly censorship.

I think JR could learn a few things about PR, but this is more or less a storm in a teacup. I can see why some people might miss their beloved armpit thread, but threads getting shut down are hardly a new thing around here and I don't see it as an assault on the community.

I never saw ezkerreldean post anything racist - but if he had, and he was warned about it, then I suppose he got what he deserved. Maybe one day he'll learn the error of his ways and JR will grant him a bit of clemency like he did with me.

I agree pretty much. WATMMers will bicker and argue about anything it seems. While I certainly did peruse the NSFW threads more than once, tits aren't going away from my life now that they've gone away from WATMM.

If there's any sense in which WATMM isn't what it used to be, it's in the absence, retreat into LTM or greatly reduced presence of fun old-time posters like loganfive, gump and ism, fred, tauboo, and many more of the other old regulars. Which I think was largely a response to the increasingly peurile and juvenile content of the forum.

I also maintain that subforums were a bad idea. But honestly, WATMM isn't much worse now than it was two or three years ago - go back longer than that and you might have a point.
