Inconsistent

WATMM has always been shit. The reason people stuck with this site is that for some strange reason they enjoy it despite the shit. Now you're saying "WATMM should only be about shit", and when you start removing all of those aspects that aren't shit or related to shit, you risk losing a hefty part of the userbase. Because who knows... They might be here just for that thing. Or they might not.. but it doesn't help.

i actually forgot about the ekt section—if there is just as much traffic in that section of the site as there is in the general banter section, then more power to you—i just wasn't referring to ekt with my response.

I'm not, but it's hard to deny the influence from one on the other. And I'm not trying to start any mudslinging here—I just feel like, after visiting watmm for ten years now, I feel like my and others' opinions aren't really reflected whatsoever. I know it's your ship and everything, but do we need to continuously donate to have a modicum of influence? I'm not really sure how this works.

You created the music discussion forum for the discussion of uh... music, plus there's the artist subforums... So you removed the nice tits thread because you got caught looking at it? At work or home or whatever? Because I don't think a more general audience thing is the reason at all. You should rename General Banter, or just call it Banter, because saying you can't discuss some things means it's not general anymore.

I want to discuss Aphex Twin people then people judge you and call you a fanboy.

Music is not a priority for many users obviously.

It is his website after all guys - but yeah, wouldn't of been nice to hold a public forum about the issue first? I miss those tits and ass threads lol. But on a serious note; the forum was never just solely about music. We have specific subforums for various bits of discussion hence why this community is my favourite because there is something for everyone. If you continue to cut out things from the board, wouldn't the overall readership decrease?

Yet I'm somewhat looking forward to seeing what is in store next. Downloadable content again would be awesome.

Ask yourself - do you want this site to be primarily about music, or just another mish-mash of memes and current events, with music as a side note? Donations have nothing to do with how the site's run, never has. If you want to have influence here, be a positive contributing member of the forum, and support it's goals and purpose. I'm simply distilling and redefining that purpose.

Nothing's wrong with the current demographic - however the content of the forums could use some cleaning up, and I see no reason the changes will have nothing but a positive impact on things here, IF people allow it to. There's plenty of music sites out there that don't even have a General Discussion or off-topic discussion section, or much stricter guidelines - and they seem to be just fine. No reason this site can't follow those examples a bit more closely and refocus on the reason the site was started to begin with.

I've been on so many forums before and the same thing always happens, everybody moves into the general discussion section and it becomes all cozy and nice, then the administrator decides to do a bunch of stupid shit and ultimately kills the forum.

I've been posting on one certain forum for like 3 years now; a Simpsons forum. When the Simpsons became shit, the moderator stopped caring about the forum and we are all still posting random stuff in the Off Topic subforum. Think about it.

You are absolutely correct - for too long WATMM has lacked content, and this is (hopefully) a small step in that direction.

You're also incorrectly associating this change with anything that happened - I decided it was time to refocus the site, and I saw the stain of adult material one of the problems here, that was pulling focus away from what the site should be about, plus the fact that not everyone wants to see that kind of material. And there's always been rules about adult content, but frankly they weren't enforced to the level they should have been. There should have never been threads purely about pornography or boobs or butts and such.

I'm not going to continually cut things - this is just regarding adult content. We can all continue to laugh about funny stuff on the internet and the like, just keep the porn off WATMM and let other sites who cater to that material be the outlet for that, and not a music discussion/resource website.
