IOS
This contemporary jazz ensemble from Brussels called Octurn sounds pretty phenomenal. Dare I say that I noticed some Autechre influences, especially in two of their pieces, namely 'Roots' and 'calcutta' (visit their page for these, http://www.octurn.com). I could be wrong though.. Not much of their work seems to be 'available' on YT. This piece called 'Place Des Etoiles' will definitely be appreciated by BoC fans Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/67209-jazz-the-thread/page/8/#findComment-2058838 Share on other sites

Plarkreluke Banloboh
Quote Ken Nordine began performing and recording at the peak of the Beats era and was associated with the poetry-and-jazz movement... However, some of Nordine's writings are more akin to Franz Kafka or Edgar Allan Poe than to the Beats... His deep, resonant voice has also been featured in many commercial advertisements and movie trailers. One critic wrote that "you may not know Ken Nordine by name or face, but you'll almost certainly recognize his voice." Guest murphythecat8
crazy how Ive went back to listening to electronica. After years of only listening to jazz. The jazz records I listen the most nowadays are: miles davis: KOB, On the corner, milestones, walkin/steamin/cookin/workin, round about midnight. Coltrane: crescent, ALS, john quartet plays, atlantic era all of it! Blakey: Moanin Gil scott heron: all of it! Jackie mclean: blue note between 61 to 65 Rollins: saxophone colossus Monk: brilliant corners, monk dream, its monk time some blue note lee morgan, lennie tristano3 Miles davis gets the most playing since it features Coltrane best period and miles best playing. the stuff he released from 55 to 59 is the jazz one could only listen and be happy with.
