It's hilarious how little it takes for something to become yet another subgenre offshoot.  Like, can't I add these duck samples to my metal riff without it becoming quackcore?

I wish someone had told me about this Final Cut Pro crack back in 2015.  So much could have been done!  On the upside, I've at least discovered a new medium I might be halfway decent at.  Branching out at last.

Yeah, with something like DnB or trance you get these really narrow genre definitions with a dozen or more subgenres but with IDM it's just "it sounds weird and not really club friendly so let's label it IDM".

Ugh Oneohtrix Point Never is the stupidest artist name I've ever heard. I couldn't have come up with anything harder to spell and unmemorable as that if I tried my hardest to.

i like the shape of "oneohtrix" as a word. Visually. It looks futuristic without evoking any particular era of futuristic speculation.

I read it that way every time, but with a hard O sound.  There's never been an appropriate time to say it out loud.

I've always pronounced it one-oh-tricks because of the whole Magic 106.7FM origin story thing (have had plenty of opportunities to say it out loud because I got to play the druggy ambient music dude in my high school's production of "Your Entire Early & Mid 20s Hipster Millenial Life: The Musical")

My brain does successfully read that as "the artist formerly known as prince" every time.

this was done soley for contract reasons so he could own his shit. "the artist" is the way musicians are refered to in contracts when signing w/a label.
