stupid first world problems you're dealing with

You probably didn't get any matches - maybe some accidental ones. They will block you as soon as they notice they have accidentally swiped to the wrong side

I signed up for one of the Tinder pay plans this month to see if it made a difference, and it actually did.  I'm matching on the regular now.  Meeting up with someone today, and someone else on Sat.  With the free version I matched with someone off the bat and then near radio silence for a couple months.  It's those "super likes" that make all the difference (pretty sure my profile was at the bottom of the deck otherwise).

FWP worried my social awkwardness will return with a vengeance now that I'm finally meeting up with people.

universe is piling on all the things in january. general complaints unloading here as i don't feel like going out to yell at the clouds. 

2 weeks ago had rather sudden onset of severe (for me) anxiety. like the brain wiggling skin crawling kind. managed to ride bike hard enough to alleviate it somewhat but my eye lids were mostly pinned open that night so not much sleep. got "break glass in case of emergency" valium Rx for future scenarios. talked to my doc about it. so, i've been on a beta blocker for atrial fibrillation forever. these work by affecting adrenalin/fight or flight response. had successful ablation a few years ago and as a result began to ween off the betablocker. down to minimal levels now and the anxiety could just be a sort of withdrawal type thing happening since i've been on betablockers so long. could be i always had more biggerer (technical term) anxiety but the betablockers were blocking it. nice. 

monday acute back pain, leg pain unrelenting for 48 hours. got some relief but it's still there and pretty acute. went to MD yesterday. possible bulging/herniated disc. MRI requested. waiting on insurance auth. in the meantime ice, heat, anti inflammatories which fuck me up in other ways mostly gut stuff. yeah.  monday night was legit looking around for the universe's referee so i could get a time out or something. if life was an MMA fight i'd have tapped out.

my dog died almost 2 years ago from cancer. big sads still and in the mail today i got the dog license renewal form from the county. yay. i think i will burn it.

I ordered some picture frames for artwork and they came with a cardboard back. Not too fashionable.

Meetup went well - went for a long walk with good conversations, no awkward pauses, tons of shared interests revealed.  Everything seemed like it was going really well right up until the last second, where I mentioned having a great time and wanting to do it again.  In that moment she seemed notably uncomfortable, agreed in a way that may have been awkward politeness, and hurriedly turned away to enter her house.  She had asked if I wanted to walk her there, rather than part ways near my van.  So... kind of mixed signals.  I may have just completely misinterpreted her body language from that last moment.  Up next, meeting an architect woman who makes glitch/fractal art and seems really interested in my music.  She asked me out for a drink, which is rare (most women still seem to expect the guy to make that move, at least in my experience).  Said my music sounds like this image:

I assumed she was referring to my electronic stuff, but said my other projects had that vibe too.  Cool perspective.  I feel like I'm probably not going to live up to the hype of what she might be expecting at this point, but I will do my best.

Sorry, i should be resurrecting the Online Dating Horror stories for this rather than munging up the SFWP thread.  There just isn't any real horror yet.  Might be something soon though...

Thanks!  It's weird to suddenly be in the position of having multiple people showing interest.  Right now there is: film school woman, architect, legal assistant, finger picking guitarist who digs Elliott Smith and Iron Maiden, another who recently requested a "friend cuddle" movie night (matched with her last time I tried this online dating thing over a year ago), another I matched with tonight who really loves the album I released in August, and the other musician woman who lives a ferry ride away.  It's been crickets for the last 3 months up until a couple weeks ago, so i don't know what the hell is going on.  Sending Tinder money I suppose accounts for some of it.

The last couple weeks are definitely not representative of my dating experience as a whole.  But there are more than enough other reasons to move to Canada.  You should.

I have a really masochistic habit of diving into my least favorite thoughts and memories when I write songs, and then I sit and think about dead people and get angry and sad about it.  It's really dangerous and might get me into trouble one of these days.  Music sucks, honestly.

Bartender at a local burger place has been outed as a serial rapist, 35 stories so far, many extremely brutal (strangulation, belt whipping).  Had an apartment above the bar, so he'd ply whomever with shot after free shot and bring them up there when they were sufficiently incapacitated.  The owners and other staffers absolutely had a good idea of what was going on.  And here I thought their bacon patty burger was disappointing.

bought a nice carhartt coat from depop and its too small (fits perfectly when its on me but putting it on and taking it off is a hassle because its one of those quarter zip pullover ones and being too small it requires some body contortion to squeeze my way in) - probably gonna sell it on depop now but as a young whippersnapper i have no idea how to package and send an item of clothing.
