Why do people act like listening to something more than once changes how it sounds?

It doesn't (technically that'd be impossible !), but your reactions to it certainly do - have you honestly never had that happen to you ?! I actually detested the first VHS Head EP when it first came out, but something made me want to re-listen to it again later and it wan't until the third or forth time that my brain seemed to do a little switch and I loved it.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

this. obviously the more you listen to something the more you can grow to love it,

and notice more about it that you might appreciate/like/love/respect more, over time. or vice-versa.

isn't that obvious!?

i don't get why some people act like this is impossible. idiots.

i swear that this EP is merely outtakes from the trademark ribbons of gold LP. it's like, dude gets some glitches going and sets them up early in the song, then spends anywhere from 2-7 minutes extrapolating all kinds of derivatives of the initial glitch, ultimately reaching a crescendo of nearly 100% glitch with only trace amounts of the original groove left.

it's like he's on an autechre-ish mission to deconstruct music so hardcore that he literally d/e/volves into 100% studder glitch guh-guh-guh madness, and after hearing one or two tracks like that, it's like "ok so there's 5 more songs on here that are gonna be the same thing? color me excited"

there's nothing as kickass grab-you-by-the-nuts-and-scream-I'M-THE-FUCKING-DADDY anthemic style like "remote control" and there's nothing as simplistically beautiful as gianasi. gianasi is prolly the epitome of the vhs head "formula", insomuch as he resisted the urge to glitch 100% of the time and let the synths/pads/melodics/harmonics do ~80-90% of the wailing, therefore allowing the glitches to be a welcome addition to the mix, as opposed to being the whole damn song.

it's kind of like when you have a good slice of cake with excellent frosting and you're like "man that frosting kicks so much ass i wanna say "fuck the cake" and just get down with a tub of frosting!!! hellz yeah ninjas WOOP WOOP!!!@" and then approximately 2-3 spoonfuls into the frosting tub you're like "holy fuck i'm an idiot... this is disgusting and wrong" --- metaphorically speaking, with VHS head the cake is the actual track.. the melodics/harmonics/synths/pads/etc, and the frosting is the glitchery. this EP goes straight into the tub of frosting, and i think i wanna puke after a good ~15-20 mins of continually eating frosting.

seriously, this new EP reminds me a lot of the venetian snares musical theory... and that's not a good thing. do remember that venetian snares = the piss beer of the so-called-IDM-world

in that case I want several tubs of this in multiple flavors so i can gorge on it then purge myself to do it all over again. this shit is disgustingly good

Has anyone received their vinyl yet?

Seems like ages since I ordered it...

No sign here either. Some word about the delay would be nice, especially as they took my money ages ago.

just checked Skam site

don't know when that was posted, but I'm hoping it'll be coming soon - i want this on vinyl bad

fuck me.. what's the point in having a release date for a digital release and not having one for the actual physical release?

it's not like there can be any manufacturing issues that prevent a digital release from happening

Bought mine of boomkat (i think). Been so long I cant remember.

couldn't have bought it from Boomkat, they only just recently had the vinyl listed up for pre-sale. only place you could preorder from (up until a couple of days ago) was Skam.

Someone needs to post a picture of themselves rocking the hat.

i just woke up, and only noticed the vinyl sitting there as i walked almost completely nude from my bedroom to the bog.

in fact, i'm thinking of going back to bed now i have verified that the vinyl works.
