regards getting/not getting feedback - if I had to make a pie chart of how I spend my music time, it would probably look like this

 

BIG ARSE SLICE OF PIE - time spent working on my own stuff

GOOD SIZE PIECE - listening to albums & people I follow on SC who've shown themselves to be consistently dank

GOOD SIZE PIECE - listening to stuff people are talking about I've never heard

TEENY LITTLE PIECE - listening to random people I haven't heard in YLC & similar producer forums

Point is, yer only gonna be getting little blips of feedback (if any at all) when you're in that last group. But if you make something that resonates, then maybe just maybe folks will go "hey that's neat" & follow you or share you on Facebook or whatever, & maybe some of their musician friends will take notice & do the same, & maybe eventually you'll even start getting non-musician followers who don't have that that big time consuming first piece. After that it's only a matter of time before you obtain fame and fortune a spot in the mid 30s of a Pitchfork year end list

 

or maybe not. You could be making the coolest music ever & never make a name for yourself because you weren't in the right place at the right time. That's why you always gotta be doing things entirely for the things themselves, & not some outside motivation

ah ok sorry, i thought you were being sarcastic or something, not that it really matters. bro seems to get a lot of negativity, and maybe some of it is warranted (emphasis on the 'maybe' because i just dont know and haven't seen many of his posts) but, his stuff is at least OK (have heard very little).
