GTAV

Nothing too exciting. There was a time when I considered GTA my favourite gaming franchise, having followed the series from day 1... but maybe I'm just getting too old to get excited by video games. Especially when they're just offering more of the same.

At least I've got Dark Souls to be obsessed with.

is CJ still the main character? or do you have a choice which is what was hinted at?

So you start out as a rich guy? That's kind of a bummer. I was hoping for a working your way to the top kind of storyline, like in GTA:SA.

It looks fantastic. But I can't say my mind was blown.

I don't think so. Doesn't sound like CJ.

Also for those of you expecting a Nico cameo... don't count on it. Rockstar once hinted that working with that specific voice actor was a pain in the ass.

In true Rockstar fashion I'm sure things will get fucked up at one point and you'll have to fight back to get your family back or something.

Yeah, 4 was a wow in terms of city-size and detail, but was much too boring in writing and mini-games in hindsight. I'm not as excited by the franchise as I used to be, but I'll still want to play this game and sink a few months into it.

Co-op campaign and alternate endings (or characters) would be enough to convince me that 5 is worthwhile.

Oh, I'll definitely get it and I'll probably enjoy it. But I don't know what it'd take to really surprise and delight me.

Yeah. That could work. Maybe it's too early to judge the game by this trailer. I just hope the game is not going to be all glamour and bling bling.

I'm not really concerned about Rockstar dissapointing with this game. They always deliver. Red Dead and L.A. we're both stunning and two of the best games I've ever played. And GTA:SA is probably my all-time favorite game. So the fact it's going to be located in Los Santos is pretty exciting.

The virtual San Andreas sun beating down on your virtual neck as you ride a virtual dirtbike through the virtual woods up to your virtual mansion with virtual private jet.

Nothing really, I'll still play it and probably like it. GTA just isn't that exciting anymore, it's all a bit Call of Duty innit

Yeah, you're talking about the Call of Duty-fatigue. Well, that I can understand because the CoD franchise has become an annual game which is just ridiculous. But by the time GTAV comes out (which I guess will be in 2012 (no one will be insane enough to release a new big game in 2013 since that'll be very close to the end of the current gen consoles)) it has been 4 years since GTAIV.

Rockstar has yet to fail me (Red Dead Redemption is still one of the best games I've played on this generation of consoles) so I'm extremely excited about GTAV.

i wonder if it's going to run over 15 fps unlike GTAIV. Probably not. They should hold off for the next generation of consoles. But they're not concerned about unimportant things like framerate or having fun. They just want to steal everyone's money.

My fatigue lasts for years my friend. I really enjoyed Red Dead Redemption and L.A. Noire but I spent so much time playing San Andreas and IV that they're still fresh in my memory and V looks far too similar to them both. We shall see, I am just not excited by it at this moment.

I will of course be willing to eat my words if the game comes around and I totally enjoy it.

The graphics looked improved over what I saw of GTAIV (never played it, seen a few trailers), so it looks like they improved their engine a bit (depending on what platform that trailer was running on, if any - might have been running on a dev PC).

I couldn't get into GTAIV at all, the city was awesome but Niko Bellic was a dick and I couldn't give a shit about the story. Once the thrill of running people over and making an escape from the cops wore off I was done. I hope this is an improvement.

I enjoyed the story in IV and thought Niko was a good protagonist. But the gameplayed was a bit boring compared to previous installments.

The Lost & Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony on the other hand.. They are we're so much fun.

Rockstar has yet to prioritize PC gaming and I don't see it happening any time soon.
