Autumn beers

Not sure man, there are only 4 GF brews available here: Double Stout, Hop Head Red, West Coast IPA, and the Imperial IPA. They're out of San DIego, so they do everything pretty west coast style with generous hopping. The Hop Head Red is my favorite by far. Amazing caramel balanced well with resinous hops.

edit: Actually I just recently saw their summer saison in the store too, haven't tried it yet.

I've had a couple of these lately, pricey but amazing.

my girl really likes the fall brew of Woodchuck, pretty much tastes like a ginger snap cookie.

pumpking is great, and i don't usually like pumpkin beers. it's so heavy and malty, i could only drink a pint or 2. it really is the king of pumpkin beers

don't get me started on rocheforts and st bernardus. i'll spend a little extra money on beer, but that 33cl (i think?) bottle is like $7-8 and the abbey 12 is like $12 for 750ml.

Have you been to The Blue Monk yet? It's kind of pricey, but I've been going like once a week since they opened. Can't help myself. I avoided St. Bernardus for a long time, not sure why..but yeah, fucking great beer.

i was there when it first opened and it was super crowded and expensive. of course a great selection though, i hadn't even heard of a lot of brews there.

i had some unpronounceable mediocre belgian and the dogfish head palo santo something. that dogfish head is soooo woody and at 12% is a heavy hitter.

yeah i didn't love the palo santo.

that abt 12 is up there with rochefort imo

I picked up a couple bottles of Life and Limb 2, a collaboration between Dogfish Head and Sierra Nevada. It's a strong, dark ale "brewed with Maple and Birch syrup". It tasted decent, much more of a cold weather beer imo with its sweet thickness and spices. I drank one bottle and have the other setting in a closet to age for a year, maybe longer. I don't have access to DFH beer around here so this was my introduction to anything they've done. It was ok, but not really something I could drink a lot of.

anyone who hasn't had dogfish head needs to have their 90minute ipa. it is worlds better than any other ipa i've ever had. i could drink that every day

daymn! i met a brewer from Vermont recently (of Lawsons brewery) and he gave me two tiny (7oz/18cl) bottles of his "maple imperial stout". he added maple syrup to a 12% imperial stout, and then aged it in maple wood barrels! haven't tried it yet, should be absolutely bitchin tho.

It tasted like what I imagine ACTUAL mead tasted like at one point, like Jadwiga or something. Polish Crusaders chugging through the snow on a quest for holy war. Not that "honey wine" bullshit that you tend to find in stores these days. It was my favorite winter beer, last year.

it is a wheat beer, but the how thick it was, and the alch content was perfect for a blzzrd.

i've not been brave enough to try it. at one of the bars i was at, i'm almost positive they were touting it's ABV at 23%. like drinking a whole 6pack of shit beer
