I'm back on Orphan Black, more out of sunk cost fallacy than excitement though.

I watched the first two and a half seasons of that before I gave up, thought the first 1 was pretty good, 2nd one started going downhill, but the third was just terrible. What are they on now, season 5? 

Broadcast cable tv shows going 1 hour 15 minutes seems to be becoming more the norm now: Fargo, Legion, Saul, Animal Kingdom. A reaction to Netflix / HULU originals?

I started watching Stargate Universe for some reason. I guess I was itching for a space adventure show. 7 episodes in and thinking about ditching it and just watching Farscape again. Carlyle is the only reason to watch SGU so far.

I liked the new tone for this. Really wanted it to keep going because once you find out why the ship is going where it's going it's pretty fascinating.

its solid enough but a lot of cliches ie the Thames embankment strolling/mumbling mentioned in a prior post, having said that it managed to get to a place where trauma/madness/occultism merged in a way that few have managed & anything that lances the origins of the East India Company, the civil service and European royalty in one fair swoop is doing history a favour. thats half the rub doe cos Gatiss does Sherlock, which if you add it to Poldark and some other wank means that our taxes continue to fund this level of atrocity, so Taboo doesnt quite balance the books although it does its best to attempt to alleviate the fully loaded excrement tanker....i'd rate it above Peaky Blinders for coherence

i gave up on it after about 4 episodes, the writing gets more stupid with every episode. the characthers' actions make no sense, the hanging dread of the brutal murder of the whole family seems like a minor headache for them. that ruth character is awful and annoying as fuck. and just in general it feels like there's some serious mismatch between acting and writing.

After The Leftovers Lindelof has a free pass for me. I never watched Lost and I blame Ridley for Prometheus, so meh. We'll see.

Didn't see season 2 of True Detective cause it sounded/looked bad from trailers and reviews. Never seen Ali in anything but I've heard good things...who knows, depends on if they get some magic back into the scripts basically.

But the more important reason I'm posting is, well, Rubin, why are you getting all your news via IGN? Do you have a problem? Do you need some suggestions for better news sites, even for entertainment news? Are you okay, just browsing IGN daily checking out TV series news?
