Zero Day - lots of star power, it fizzles out a little at the end, and it's VERY talky

Clean Slate - very charming and heartwarming comedy about acceptance in the South, but it's not a realistic portrayal of Mobile, Alabama

yeah was quite surprised on how much I liked it... watched the 1st eps of the 3rd season and were a bit slow but haven't watched the rest yet... gonna binge it when it's over...

After Yellowstone - should I watch 1923 or 1883?

My wife watches Grace and Frankie. Overage persons playing the "try to hide age and decay for face-saving, (then suddenly disappear and die)" game. Terrible.

Slowly drifting through Parts Unknown for the third time. One of the greatest shows of all time. Unbelievably I'd never even heard of Anthony Bourdain until he killed himself. I keep meaning to read his books.

No doubt Bourdain is a fucking genius. The third run through this, I focus more on his thoughts and narration than before. Almost every sentence that comes out of his mouth is brilliant.

Makes you actually really fear the darkness that can exist if you don't keep a healthy mind. Him and Chris Cornell, truth be told, both make me a little sad with what they did. So very tragic. And I don't really usually care that much about famous people dying. Those two are the exception.

Severance s2 finished out well enough. some sorta cringey bits and some silly vibes but that’s sorta what the show is since day 1 so not unexpected. the good moments are good tho, and overall it’s clear they’re making some good, kinda interesting TV. i think i kinda hope that it opens up the field to more sorta abnormal approaches and ideas getting greenlit than i love the show itself.

not bad/10

not bad is a good blurb for severance

My wife has watched all of severance so I've only seen bits and parts, but my general feeling, especially with the latest season, is that they've gone too hard on the "hay guyz let's be weird and unique" to the point where it's just being weird for the sake of being weird.

Chris Cornell was a rough one for me. think it took me about a week to get out the depressive funk that threw me into. still doesn't make sense when I dive back into it...Bourdain went from being cocky and unlikeable to like you said, borderline genius over the course of his career. I'll never understand well-loved celebrities offing themselves once they're in the sweet spot of life.

onto other things, I'm holding off on starting White Lotus s3 until it all is released. I've found shows like that with so many characters and plot lines is easier to watch all in one go. in the meantime I decided to try Mike White's under the radar show "Enlightened." it has a lot of similar humor and cringe elements that White Lotus does. Laura Dern's character reminds me so much of an ex-work colleague it's scary.

White Lotus S3 is 🔥

More of the same formula, but that’s not a bad thing. It’s always a bit of a relief to look down on rich people, for a change. Schwarzenegger’s son is surprisingly really good in it too.

Severance S2 was a mixed bag. Technically excellent but also very... sloppy? like the pieces don't really fit together and its kinda empty. Cant put my finger on it.

ZOMG! Lazerz pew pew pew!!!!11!!1!!!!1!oneone!shift+one!~!!!

This might be true. But also, as far as second seasons go, it was really good and the show didn’t implode under its own expanding weight, which is kind of impressive. IMO.

I also didn’t think most of the weird bits were that incongruous, but I guess I’m in the minority.

5 eps in and this season is great.
