sweepstakes
I thought My So-Called Life was quite good. I liked the variety, and it felt to me like he wasn't holding anything back. I may need to give it another listen but I felt like 1961 was too much of an Analord ripoff. Then again, Analord seems to be to WATMM what Ronald Reagan is to the post-1980 G.O.P. I think his stuff /doesn't/ seem to fly by like that, if it does sound like they go on a tracker conveyor belt sort of feel then the notes blow up and fill the screen as they're triggered and sometimes warp in strange ways, or something. Ragnar
I think his recent stuff is dark but in a different way, like more paranoid than horror movie stuff, his old stuff is even like melancholy?? You definitely should. I think I thought something similar when I first heard Last Step (the album) but now the two albums have grown on me I can feel a very strong Venetian Snares presence in them. Especially 1961, which is IMO very complex, like he transformed all the violence he can put in some Vsnares tracks into something more cerebral. 1961 and Winter In The Belly Of A Snake are my favourite vsnares albums because they sound like they are a level up in maturity. Analord is IMO much more sensitive and warm. Those days before they took out all the good bits between the kicks and the snares! More and more snares between the snares from Snares, this is jungle at it's most invigorating! Aaron "sparkling water" Funk is not watering it down this time, these beats shoot thick and sticky! Bass that makes your colon drop like you grew a new nut out your ass! Over 20 people were harmed in the creation of this record! If you want some kinda IDM bloop beats with a bunch of effeminate pads off your fucking nord or something then you will hate this record. From the catchy title track opener "Pink + Green" which blends demented punk vocals with hyper-complex grooves and gut gurgling bass blasts you can just tell this is something fresh and funky from producerAaron "funk" Funk. Not to worry though the sub-rattling low-end blasts and jackhammering hardcore anthems are still here and in full effect on tracks like "Sporto Fucking Sellout Cocksuckerface" and "Husikám Rave Dojo" that revisit the days of pilled out candy raving. This is cyberpunk at it's finest! Welcome to the interzone! This is not some crybaby n00bcore bullshit, this is rave at it's roughest like only Mr.Snares can bring it. So buy this kickin' new ep so Snares can buy more laptops to make his untouchable "voice of a generation" breakcore cyber hits!. "Pink + Green" (CD) ships out on March 29, 2007 on Sublight. Reveal hidden contents \ said: What if' date=' for just a day, we could both be pigeons?Sometimes one moment in time can take on such an important signifigance that it becomes an endless world unto itself and everything outside of that moment, past and future spots in time, become the folklore of that world. What if we could both fly over the Királyi Palota and see it just as these pigeons do? A beautiful culture of dissimilar angles as donkey angels above this city. But even in the world of the infinite moment, we cannot choose the feather of our bird and the pigeon may long to be the goose, the donkey the pigeon and so on. Furthermore as our world blossoms out of this single tick in time, it is for one pigeon a swirling romantic flood of euphoric possibility and fascination, for the other an inferior life of shitting on everyone from the sky, awkard and ashamed, resigning themselves to be the wretched nuisance they are painted as by those they shit on. Ultimately, as quickly as our world blooms, our world is discordant, and our pigeons are wounded, and as our world dies, we die, and we are extinct. If only we could kill ourselves over and over until we get it right. So just as an entire genre of music can be born out of one sped up ten second breakbeat, a full symphony orchestra can come together in harmonic unison to create that perfect moment in time, thus every moment can give birth to an entirely new world, and every world can house the perfect moment, and just as that breakbeat may be broken beyond any recognition, that orchestra may combine to bring forth a dissonant barrage of colossal sorrow, and so the moment disintegrates it's world and that world suffocates the moment under it's collapse. These are love songs and grief songs. [/quote'] Reveal hidden contents \ said: "Things will be much better for me once I move to Vancouver."
