again, i don't really hate skrillex as much as i hate the people that think that sort of music has any sort of integrity. i try to be open minded, and a lot of the time i employ a "well, each to his/her own" attitude towards personal preferences such as music taste and who knows, maybe it is original in its own way, sorta like a drawing by an autistic kid.

This is incredible. It's the most mesmerising, elegant, euphoric, and heartfelt music he's released in years. It's left me a bit speechless. Because since getting into his music (about 2009), all of his new releases have disappointed me. I don't much like his extroverted jungle or acid or his throwaway joke tracks. I like his more introverted personal stuff that builds and crescendos and has you captivated with the way its composed over the entirety of it running time. Tracks like Cancel and My Half are untouchable.

The title track is the most amazing thing I've heard since I last listened to Hospitality (the track). The build up is immense. His music can seem so full on it's like its on auto pilot and going through the motions, honestly like its from a tired mind who can't help but rush through the process of making music to get to the quick fix. The stuff that builds up, and teases and drops out, and really uses the breakcore sparingly and with more intent is way more effective.

Also, there's a bit at 52 seconds into Ultraviolent Junglist that sounds ace, I always wanted more of that sound. Some of this reminds me of that.

Ordered the vinyl.

Still pissed off that mu do not offer mp3 downloads when you buy physical media - get on it!

They have done for all their full length albums for a year or two.

Closest I could find. Not quite the same, but I hear the resemblance.

The same instrument thing is used at the end of Sinthasomphone and throughout Aaperture.

'' Another, I wrote using only tweeters so it was hard to make out anything other than hi-hats. Still, it sounds much better than most music that has been recorded.''

what an arsehole.

No one makes music like he does. At it's best it's more captivating than any other music. It transcends breakcore, it transcends the methods he uses to create it. It almost always feels like bouncing inside his brain as he's relentlessly pursuing some kind of immense fulfillment.

Finally purchased this... It's the best music I've heard from him in years... To think he can make this music in such a fluid manner in only a few sittings; mind-imploding to me!

Fool The Detector!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I' don't have even words for it, never knew there is that kind of dark braindance... I'm going pagan on that one!

does anyone know tracks close to?

i've dwded it yesterday (i never buy whatever from VS) - i'll listen it when i've finished 2 listen all i must listen

i do

sorry i'm very good in english yet

Is this really that good? I mean dont get me wrong I love snares but I dont get all his stuff as he releases so much and from a quick listen to the samples I thought this was one I could do with-out. Maybe should give it another listen.

Having said that he does seem to have chilled out a fair bit on the release schedule, think he must be due to bring out another amazing album soon. Again just going by the samples the last 2 haven't really interested me that much. Cubist reggage was ace though and I've been listening to a lot of old Snares recently. Doll Doll Doll still hits me hard everytime, classic album.

I love it for it's darkness, chopped vocals within the braindance isn't something I was familiar with. I like it for the battle charakter not that much for it's overall sound/composition.

I was thinking of beat-clashs like the dancehall poeple like to do it for "electronic music",

if you'd come up with "Fool the dectector" it would be hard to beat - for sure.

The name feels really fresh to me, it gave me a deeper meaning to the piece for a reason I cannot really explain.

I listened to the samples beforehand and wasn't too interested, but then I listened to it in its entirety and was hooked within 5 seconds. Not one second is wasted, each track flows into the next, it's the most perfect 4 track ep I've heard. I put it onto a disc with the richard devine risp ep that starts after it and I like richard devine but in comparison it's so dull, monotonous and flat.

I read snares fans say similar things about how they adore his earlier releases, especially doll doll doll and find candace, making orange things, printf, and while I always find that music really raw and fresh whenever I listen to it now, I don't think it's any where near as engaging as the music on this ep, or the best music he was releasing from 2005 onwards.

"Making Orange Things" is awful, "Fuck Canada//Fuck America" is better and it's not good either. I like "Greg Hates Car Culture" much more than Printf as well. "Higgins Ultra Low Glue Track Funk Hits 1972-2006" is also an often overlooked album, but has a lot of its own moments and HCCBU (2004) is one of his best albums imho. I'm not aware why "Songs About My Cats" is rarely mentioned either, since it's just as "hard" and "fuckery" as his other albums; it is a harsh album in the Snares way.

"Fool the Detector" is a nice EP, it complements "Affectionate" well in that they both were released around the same time, are four tracks, and very listenable. With "Fool the Detector" though, there's much more flow between tracks without sounding samey. It will communicate from the body of the ocean with advanced telepathy to the 747.
