ive liked everything he has released recently with the exception of cubist reggae, which i thought sounded terrible. speed dealer moms was a better concept if you ask me, but ive liked all of his recent LPs. i just cant get with cubist reggae.

I had the same feelings toward cubist reggae at first. After a couple of listens I found a couple of the songs got stuck in my head like some pop lyrics or sumfin'

yes, too be fair ive listened to it throughout maybe twice. perhaps it would be better as an LP.

The thing I like about cubist is that it is a very original approach to a genere, but the tracks didnt satisfy me.... I mean, the name sounds as the music does, its truly "cubist reggae" in its form but the tracks werent explored to its full potential IMO

again, i don't really hate skrillex as much as i hate the people that think that sort of music has any sort of integrity. i try to be open minded, and a lot of the time i employ a "well, each to his/her own" attitude towards personal preferences such as music taste and who knows, maybe it is original in its own way, sorta like a drawing by an autistic kid.

This is pretty good. I can't handle the singing though.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

I'm kind of 'what happen' right now but it reminds me of Horsey Noises which I liked, but I listened to the previews too much and the non-preview parts ended up feeling like some bullshit filler, same thing with this album. I thought Index Pavilion was going to just become this ridiculous blur by the end, but it kind of just flickered/glitched out instead. First track I ended up not caring, Chriohn had some nice surprises. Also title track was pretty FIERCING at the end. Lots of genuinely angry-sounding bits on this ep

Chriohn is sort of like what Speed Dealer Moms should've been

if the EP has a strength is that even with his persona revealed in interviews now some of the tracks on this one genuinely scared me just with sound. Or scared what he was thinking when making these. Or something

yeah, i'm enjoying this EP.

and Affectionate, too. Affectionate & Fool The Detector are both solid releases.

@Ragnar, i digging the "emotional baggage" that's weighing this release down. it adds an extra something to the music that keeps it interesting.

To think I have to wait for the vinyl to arrive to hear it. I wonder if Aaron would mind if I downloaded it "illegally" in the meantime.

I think it's a wonderful release. I just wish it had been a full length though, I would've jizzed my pants. I'm not even a bit disappointed, it was crafted marvelously. Some may argue it's more of the same, and i'll kinda agree with you on that, but in fact I'll not. For me it sounds completely different, if not, at least perfected and taken to another level. People just needs to listen more carefully; Aaron is pulling some amazing shit in there.

really diggin' this release. my favourite track has to be Index Pavilion. I'm not feeling the vocal "placement" in the first track though. Edited by GRVGLTCHR

Mr. Funk is such a great IDM artist, 7/4 should be a national holiday

oh wait it is

edit: whoa 74th post, mind is blown
