New Release Speculation Based On Facts We Have

I think Joyrex should take away the aphex twin folder and keep it in storage until he does something worthy of being talked about again. His bolded clickable name being on watmm is a reminder every time i visit the site, and I can't help but venture inside and maybe I'll see a new photo where he looks slightly less of a scruff that he did in a previous photo. The thing about him mentioning that he's got 3 (or was it 6?) albums completed can mean two things; merely a way for him to continue being promoted on sites like pitchfork et all that run news story's that read: new aphex twin album in the works possible release this year/decade/century oh look he's playing this festival, or that he's in such a creative rut that announcing he's got completed albums to the world/a bunch of people on watmm gives himself the impetus to make that a reality. Like; yeah I've got a reworked melodies of mars, i haven't really, i wish to have though. tee hee.

 

i think i bit of both, he plays venetian snares tracks in his sets, he's talked positively of 00s Autechre, clearly he's lost all his confidence, clearly he listens to their output in the last decade and thinks; what's the point, I can't top that. I don't think that quite qualifies as reverse psychology. I don't want a new aphex twin album anyway.

He hates us, why else would he say that. Already several years have passed. I guess we

Sure it's fun to speculate, but getting antsy about it like it's a right isn't going to get you anywhere. Perhaps if you said nothing for a little while there'd be no pressure and things would just naturally come to pass.

anything he releases now is gravy. the catalog of work he's provided has been great. I'd hope he doesn't let a a forum of fans influence when he releases something... or what the critics reaction to his new works will be... I know I'll buy a copy and enjoy every minute (unless he porposely puts some insanely mental noise on it to make my ears bleed) you get the point though. can't wait

it's to late man, he already ran to warp with his usb stick full of unfinnished tracks

The thing is, back in 09 Steve Beckett said that an album is definitely on the way and was hopefully being released that same year, no album came but RDJ did release the extra Analord tracks around Xmas and since then we never heard from Steve again on the topic haha which is funny for a label that big and since he is the boss, my guess is that RDJ was forced to release something because Steve mentioned it like that and it was already a while since he put anything out and probably told Steve to never mention anything again.

 

In that Spanish interview if it is real, he did say that he doesn't like releasing something innovative straight away and wants it to age a bit so that's probably it, he has something ready its just a matter of the right time and if its a warp album then warp will also play a part in how/when to release to make it a success.

So RDJ decided he wanted his analords spread over 11 12"s, accompanied with a luxurious binder and a single compilation somewhere in the future. How would WARP respond? I guess we all know the outcome. WARP thinks more like running a business, I guess. They have obligations to loads of artists and just can't gamble with their money the way RDJ wanted them too. (Read: rdj actually had a horrible proposal and wouldnt take any alternative)

 

Also, who said rdj is a millionaire? Perhaps he was in the past, but after the divorce my guess is that he certainly is not even close.
