Having a background in the extreme conservativism of Saudi Arabia, I watched very carefully through that lens and could find only minimal trouble: the part where she briefly but deliciously worked her Porterhouses, er, I mean thighs on top of the car. The lyrics are suggestive of sex and violence but stay fairly muted. The video celebrates traditional and contemporary Saudi culture imo. Yeah it was filmed in Morocco, one of the more liberal? tolerant? western? sane? "mellow" Islamic countries. I think some Bravo housewives show went there as well. For American media: Tunisia was used for Star Wars, Egypt is the one with museums, Dubai is for all the big pimping rap videos and Hollywood movies. Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar are cooperative but too small for any decent wide-shots. Only if there's money though... otherwise it's back to the California desert.

i think the video is pretty rad. regardless of her 'authenticity', the 3rd-world/freedom fighter/slum-chic aesthetic she has created is pretty genius. she's the 21st century update to punk. punk is so conformist and corporatized in the developed world, maybe real punk only really exists in 3rd world countries now.
