What have you done to help the poor kids in Africa? i love when I try to encourage activism I'm the bad guy for not engaging in it myself. What have you done? Should we make this a pissing contest? Just for argument's sake, I'm not actively protesting anything involving Africa except historical revisionism, which I am very vocal about. I am also in a voter watchdog group in my county, which was successful in recalling a council member who had gone against his platform. Im in the very slow process of writing articles for a number of activist organizations/journals. But I'm not over in Africa physically doing good for people, so on that point, you are absolutely right. Everyone ignore my advice; its wrong. Kanakori
"Im pretty sure" =/= "I'm sure and absolutely correct" Well it happens that I'm not naive. Usually when I'm cynical about something,I'm right. Sometimes I'm wrong, but in this case if its honest or not, its still a drop in the ocean as he doesnt real know how what he's doing. Guest Pennywise
So some people in America do something positive and everyone on here bitches and moans about it. Is it because we all know deep down that we don't do anything good in the world and it makes us feel better to condemn people who are better than us. Kanakori
I'm against imperialism in any form, and imperialism is what has been destroying Africa for the last centuries. Nowdays its the chinese Imperialism, almost any country in Africa has debts with them because the chinese never give up anything for free. This campaign encourages an american invasion at the request of people alll around the world who think they're RIGHT. Until a country's governement expresses its will to be helped by the white house, its a violation of sovereignty. In some cases, a government doesnt express the peoples will, as in a opressive dictatorship, but in uganda the case is very ambiguous and nobody knows if "democracy" will follow its course naturally afterwards without the American (or others) manipulation/ ntervention.
