I dunno, I think a lot of people have gotten bored of maintaining any kind of expectation after so much time and so many teases. I reckon either they're engrossed in crafting a monumental masterpiece or they're having trouble bringing everything together. The latter is vastly more plausible.

maybe (probably) warp has them by the balls with a cheap ass contract. Contract law works such that the label often owns the actual name of the artist and often has exclusivity clauses (ie artist can not release under other labels with same or different artist name). Big labels scoop up small artists for super cheap when they are promising.....

Boards of Canada left Skam to go to Warp. they knew what they were getting into. and that's even if Warp are short changing them, which I really really doubt they are.

I'm skeptical as well. I just know that in general artists don't shaft their fans THIS bad...

Yeah, I dunno. I've heard from Bibio that Warp is actually pretty good to their artists. Then again, they are a for-profit record company.

Yeah, but when did Boards of Canada seem like relentless artists for a living? I always sort of had the impression that their music was one outlet for them. Not to say they have other creative outlets.

I wouldn't be the least surprised if Boards of Canada didn't release anything for another five years, if at all. I just take the random tweets and facebook comments (is the fb page even legit?) as slight reminders that they still exist, but I take that with a fucking pillar of salt.

I hope they don't re-release the old tunes in digital format. In fact I like the old tunes just as they are, damaged and low-fi. I want a new album that has some surprises (as TCH did)
