i like the pineapples quite ripe, not 'fizzy' mind you but only with the slightest bit of fermentation and very sugary sweet

they take a long ass time to grow but it's worth it.

Very good dehydrated, mango too.

ah you already covered what I was gonna add in my spoiler. Unfortunately it's all theoretical for me, as my gf makes a point of not getting any in her mouth (apart from the slight prelim dribble)

Maybe if you paid her extra?

the biggest illusion is yourself

Pineapple contains a proteolytic enzyme, bromelain.

This is why it can make the inside of your mouth sore: as you're eating it, it's trying to eat you.

For this reason, you can soak your feet in pineapple juice to soften and remove dead skin.

AAAHHH! Where did you get that? I've got a simple apple corer but thought that was as far as I could go. This looks like something you have to buy off a shopping channel or Robert Dyas.

Fuck it I'll go to Robert Dyas today, hopefully they'll have one.

It's fairly rare that I buy a pineapple unless they're on offer. They can get pretty expensive but for lunch maybe twice a week I get a freshly cut up tray of it and it's truly beautiful to every sense.

both of the grocery stores here have them (one being a walmart). i'm in a small town in the u.s., so i can only guess what's available in the u.k.

I'm mildly allergic to fresh pineapple it really fucks with my tongue but I can eat canned pineapples and drink pineapple juice. It's alright I guess. Now, last night I had some passion fruit juice, and I think that deserves an appreciation thread.

I'M SORRY FOR BEING ME I CAN'T HELP THE WAY I AM

i love grilled pineapple. oh man that shit is heavenly.

i make a pork and pineapple taco that is one of my favorite recipes ever.

recipe courtesy of rick bayless. i highly highly recommend it.

INGREDIENTS

A 3 1/2-ounce package achiote paste

3 canned chipotle chiles en adobo, plus 4 tablespoons of the canning sauce

1/4 cup vegetable or olive oil, plus a little more for the onion and pineapple

1 1/2 pounds thin-sliced pork shoulder (1/4-inch-thick slices are ideal—the kind Mexican butchers sell for making tacos al pastor)

1 medium red onion, sliced 1/4- inch thick

Salt

1/4 of a medium pineapple, sliced 1/4-inch-thick rounds

20 warm corn tortillas

About 1 1/2 cups raw tomatillo salsa

DIRECTIONS

1. Marinate the meat. In a blender, combine the achiote paste, chiles, canning sauce, oil and 3/4 cup water. Blend until smooth. Use 1/3 of the marinade to smear over both sides of each piece of meat (refrigerate the rest of the marinade to use on other meat or fish). Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour.

2. Grill and serve. Light a charcoal fire and let the coals burn until covered with gray ash but still very hot; bank the coals to one side and set the grill grate in place. Or, heat one side of a gas grill to high. Brush both sides of the onions slices with oil and sprinkle with salt. Lay in a single layer on the hot side of the grill. When richly browned, usually just about a minute, flip and brown the other side; move to the cool side of the grill to finish softening to grilled-onion sweetness. Oil and grill the pineapple in the same way. Finally, in batches, grill the meat: it’ll take about a minute per side as well. As the meat is done, transfer it to a cutting board and chop it up (between 1/4- and 1/2-inch pieces). Scoop into a skillet and set over the grill to keep the meat warm. Chop the onion and pineapple into small pieces as well, add them to the skillet and toss everything together. Taste and season with salt, usually about 1/2 teaspoon. Serve with the tortillas and salsa for your guests to make soft tacos.

Is there a finer tasting natural food on earth?

No, there isn't. In the first sentence of the first post on this topic, we can reach a quick conclusion. Pineapple is the best fruit, and quite nearly the best food on earth. Hands down. Pineapple juice is the best juice, and if you disagree you're lying to yourself. Wake up sheeple

pineapples are tasty

lately theres been an offer on pineapple and coconut juice at lidls and its fuckin heaven!

mangos are tasty to, but only when you get them at the perfect ripeness...

they produce a sap that can be quite nasty, you can become allergic and never be able to go near them again

i got told this when i was working at a mango packing factory (at night)(whilst on acid)

this building is about 15 minutes drive from where i stay....

Passion fruit is very tasty. It seems most tropical fruits are pretty incredible. I think passion fruit is considered tropical. I grow the passion fruit vine out on my porch because it produces the most beautiful alien flowers.

Durian is still the King of Fruit.

On a recent trip to Indonesia I tried sirsak juice again, which I had forgotten. I'm informed it's "soursop" in English. Anyway, it's the nectar of the gods.

Is Durian similar to soursup? cus i've never even seen a durian but soursup (Guanabana) is quite common here and it's not that special imo, tho i can see how it would be if it were a rarity.

i'm into guanabana juice

oh, Lindrum Larry Cocopipe.. custard apple is guanabana!

nectar of the gods if the gods are disgusting foot fetishists who only get off if the feet in question are covered in a pungent, cheesy sort of fungus
