The purpose of "General Banter" is becoming a bit difficult to discern. Nonetheless, even as an avid reader/viewer, I had no problem with the removal of the Nice Tits thread and Joyrex's reasoning there wasn't ridiculous so do yourselves a favor and let that ship sail.

All the heavier handed moderation has definitely made this place a bit antiseptic though and that's not a good thing. It might be good for Joyrex's hardcore newborn christian life, but it's damned boring for content, lols, etc.

What else can be said about Fred that hasn't been said?

He WAS WATMM.

He was/is an excellent Words With Friends opponent. I rarely beat him.

I remember Fred being the first watmmer that I recognized as a persona, as opposed to just a username.

At the end of the day, I'm sure he's got better shit to do.

I definitely agree that things did start going south after we lost the nice tits & nice butts threads. That's obvious. As for the golden age, I feel like I must have joined in the middle of it. Shit was wild back then. It was nice having sup around though. He was pretty funny. Around the time of the hitler video, things were pretty rad. I think that was also around the time of the one-millionth post. I remember staying up all night for that. Good times.

Maybe we actually need some subsections for genban. Maybe even a "stupid shit" section that you can post in where your posts don't increase your count and the rules are more loose, because it might keep stupid shit out of the rest of the forum. I know that I post less stupid stuff when I have a section like that to post in.

watmm died a little when Theo, Lion, and Brian Ellis were banned. Now that Fred is gone, I see no reason for me to stay here anymore. There are some watmmers that I talk to with other means (ie facebook blah blah).

It hasn't really been active lately, but I kind of feel like any new watmmer that joined in the past year or two that hasnt seen it should give it a thorough read.

Yeah, sup seems like he was a hilarious guy. I'm sad that he was banned when I got here. Everything he said was funny as hell, and the most flattering thing that's happened to me on this forum is being accused of being him. data and Sirch are p cool thugs, and Sirch has days now and then where he posts a ton (I think he has the highest daily post count I've ever seen).

 

Also, sorry, I'm trying to reduce my post count. It's gone down significantly in the past day or two. Don't worry too much about me; I do this when I join forums. I guess this is the longest I've done it for, though, since I like this forum much more than the others that I've been to.

I'm trying to understand the supposed correlation between me or you posting a lot and this forum being a shitty place and I don't understand exactly.

I don't find our posts especially shitty, especially compared to some of the stuff I see being praised.

Regardless, banning fun, contributing members isn't fair if it's just some personal beef between the mods. I didn't see any bad post from McGriff really.

exactly. Funniest/saddest thing is it was completely innocuous, just some harmless good fun. And there was a nice cocks thread too, for balance. The only decision I think I ever agreed with regarding forum moderation was banning for attempted hacking of the board. And I'm not even sure if that ever happened. Except perhaps with tftt, but that wasn't hacking per se, he was just exploiting a known forum function I believe...so yeah, can't say I ever agreed with a banning. Well, maybe sini, he did get to the point where he was becoming quite a nuisance.
