My reasoning is this - the purpose of General Banter is for banter - amusing anecdotes and what not. Discussing things. Not for wolfing out to nice tits. That's why no tits doesn't bother me, but also why I didn't censor for speech (unless, as previously stated it was obviously racist, or perhaps if it was just plain nonsense).

I will admit, at first I was for removing chatmm, but I must say in retrospect that decision was wrong.

I think the reason why eugene and lumpy (and I) think there is a fallacious argument, is that when people say there are other places on the internet with tits, they are arguing that, because there are other places, there is no reason to want it on watmm. That is a fallacious argument. I agree that there are other places on the internet for tits. And I can't argue with the fact that you have no problem removing them from watmm. Both those statements are true.

But it isn't the case, as I think it was being implied, that, since there are tits elsewhere on the internets, then no one should have any problem removing them from watmm.

It would be like saying that, since there is meat in the butcher, you shouldn't be sad that it gets removed from your grocery store. It's true that there is meat in the butcher. But the argument is nonetheless fallacious.

But you cannot make an argument that people shouldn't miss the tits, just because there are other places on the internet.

I have to admit, I find this forum far less embarrassing to use since the censorship got tighter. The nice tits thread was easy enough to avoid but there was porn and stuff throughout other threads. And I admit it was well used for comic effect, so I was a bit upset at first too, but in hindsight, I think the forum is shaping up a lot nicer than what it was before.

My main gripe is that as a community, we do nothing now. Surely our collective efforts can be used for purposes other than creating archives of excellent examples of the female form (which, again, is all over the place already).

For me the golden age of watmm was a long time ago, maybe about a year or two after it went from being Joyrex.com to watmm.com. I don't remember porn and shit like that being particularly prevalent back then.

The thing is, there was a lot more mystery surrounding the IDM scene back then but now all that can be found out so easily, leaving a LOT less to be discussed on this forum without someone calling "Jazzband" ( another McGriffism). So we can never go back to how it used to be. But I do think we can move forward without this being a free-for-all if:

1) Joyrex puts in the effort to organise it (even if that means being good at delegating jobs)

2) Everyone else stops whinging about the nice tits thread.

While I never spent more than 5 minutes in the nice tits thread, I found very little to appreciate in there, mostly because taste in tits, like taste in music, is subjective. But I suppose my opinion is neither here nor there. However, I would suggest that you lot who are so interested in nice tits as chosen by IDM fans go start a tumblr with that as a theme. :)

With that said. It alienated the womens in this forum, and that's not very cool. I think it is fine that those type of threads were removed, but removing all nsfw content is kind of lame. The strange/funny pictures threads could benefit for some nswf content. (In spoiler tags of course).

I know I've said it before, but there was a time when watmm didn't suffer newb fools gladly, old timers could be pretty caustic, but it was all in good fun. If you figured it out (and only the thickest didn't), you could slide into the community no problem. In fact the nice tits thread was not important, but like all censorship, removing it only calls more attention to it. The most absurd argument I heard about why no tits was from JR himself, that it was childish, immature. That couldn't be further from the truth. True maturity doesn't mean cutting off the playful/child-like/horny part of yourself. Everyone enjoys a good fart/poop joke once in a while (as Fred and JR proved time and again). Same goes for tits. And it was hardly taking over the forum.

The end of the day - when Joyrex deletes a thread like Asymms about his wife's friend fantasizing about a proper rogering, there's nothing i can do. We've had discussions in private, but as has often been said, it is his forum.
