The shape of Autechre

Sorry to reignite a thread but I feel it was just a hiatus.

I feel this is definitely sci-fi orientated with futuristic aspects but contrasted with gritty 'rough-around-the-edge' ideas.

'Chiastic Slide' for me gives a post-apocalyptic world of vast, baron planes (Rettic AC) littered with ruins of dilapidated skyscrapers and vehicle skeletons where Man has been taken back in time but still has the technological advancements of machine construction (Cipater). Religious cults and mystical tribes have taken over society (Tewe), and there is still hope of the earths rejuvenation, but realistically these hopes are but dreams. Sadness and despair plague the 'people' left to toil the planet for survival (Hub) but whilst they work on their primary task, the beast that will save a race; deep bellow the earth's surface giant structures crush, carve and compute all feeding birth the 'mothership' (Calbruc). First visions of this prosperous new land lively, fresh and teeming with life and optimism (Pule) one can only pray the work is forthcoming. Back to earth the final stages are underway but anxiety is rife amongst the people (Recury). Finally departure ensues.

Pre empting possible deconstruction, this is my first post here on this forum, and I understand the considered (by some) pretentious aspects of the genre of which people may see exemplified in my concept or say it's rather linear, contextual, some could say overtly blatant and narrow minded. But this is how 'Chiastic Slide' made me feel and think I think it's a piece of work on Ae's behalf.

it really would be a 4D object. to us it would look like something struggling to reach our perception, but just resulting in cataclysmic failure

To be fair, all of their tracks (and really all songs) are 4-Dimensional objects. I think that's one thing I really like about music. Besides film, it's one of the only art mediums that actually spans in the 4th dimension. Paintings are obsolete. Also I enjoy how there is nothing visual to accompany the actual sounds, like you're hearing the audio input from a blind person who's living in this alternate Autechre universe.

Well. Most of their 2001+ stuff brings to mind abstract configurations of shapes and textures bordering on the unimaginable. Huge beyond comprehension and radiating slow waves of maze-like patterns that fold into different worlds with their own things goin on.

While listening to the Slovenia oversteps set/ Roaring chasms of iridescent crackling smoke violating the sky and dreaming into a population of dying moments. Sliding your hand across an ivory wall. Radial gothic motions. Monk ease. A cyan well. Three clear owls in a room decorated like mars. Slow motion paradise - Smooth, silver, green and suspicious. Turqoise and gold factory wounds. Standing next to a cage and looking up at a flashing hot pink moon. Rude apes eating stained glass wallets. A yellow oozing mask in a blue room. Ultraviolet creaking. Cascades of unnatural and annihilating configurations of light.

Imagination is wonderful.

with autechre, they pay so much attention to shaping their sound, i get impressions of objects+shapes+textures that i can practically reach out and touch.. but i think i tend to 'feel' music more than 'see' or visualize it in general.

i do sometimes get imagery while listening to their music but typically it's abstract, organic, dreamlike

keep working on those skills, one day with a lot of dedication and hard work you may approach the level of the Designers Republic

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.
