@mcbpete. exidy tours was the first LP I bought but the LOVE for u.a.e. is heartily seconded.

Is it me or is there an upsurge in people putting coloured vinyl? I'm not a massive fan of coloured vinyl. If you are playing in a darkened club it makes it harder to see the grooves when you are spinning - or is that just me?

Is it still the case that coloured vinyl sounds worse than black vinyl or is that old technologies ?

Well from what I can tell, the debate is still ongoing. But 95% of people will say that coloured vinyl sound inferior and wears out quicker - Some people who work in plants confirm this also

Well there is certainly an upsurge in gimmickery. The trend has been the 'carrot on a stick' "initial copies on coloured vinyl" baiting that Boomkat's labels and manufacturers have done. Have no illusions that Boomkat isn't behind all of this. It's so slick they have Amoeba behind them in hipness, and printing up Boomkat album descriptions to stick onto their artist separator cards.
