I might have already mentioned in this thread but I swear that I read Hubbard's wikipedia page a while ago and it had all of the scathing info about him and then years afterwards it had all of the negativity taken out.

One can still search for Operation Snow White to see how they are basically trying to make their own govt or listen to his son's testimonies on how awful of a person he was.

Thanks for posting this, nearly finished listening and utterly fascinated. Hubbard seems like the ultimate Herzog-esque character; a tortured man with grandiose dreams that's able to become a leader despite his obvious madness and unachievable goals. It's insane to believe people are still obsessively devoted this; glad to see people are tackling against their aggressive and cult-like behaviour.

do you think it would be ok to just let Scientology have their way with their legions of slaves who they'll have sit and remove things they don't like all day? because they have a large number of people who dont work beyond what the church tells them to do, they will most likely win out. isn't that a kind of censorship itself? they are censoring the truth about their organization.

so you're saying you would prefer that wikipedia themselves un-censor the scientologists so that the scientologists can go back to censoring everyone else. 2 different options, each including censorship, but you have a problem with the option that allows the truth to be written... ? smart.

Scientology is a NEW religion and in only 60 years they have infiltrated many levels of government and amassed insane amounts of money and sprayed their lawsuit jizz in every which way. They actively harass and even try and drive some critics and ex members insane (sneaking into their houses and subtly rearranging things for example or spreading harsh rumors like they raped a baby). Many old Religions can be written off as "same shit different century" but Scientology is a new beast, a Religion created from the ashes of the modern world that actually took root and grew and grew instead of something like Jones Town that was just a flash in the pan. The world hasn't seen anything like Scientology yet, it's a brand new kind of beast.

It's no surprise that a religion that's been going back generations for hundreds of years can get people to believe that they will live when they die and all that but in only a few decades Scientology has gotten thousands (millions according to them) of people to believe that they will serve the church for a billion years and that their body is infested with alien spirits. Nothing like this has happened before. so many peoples brains changed to believe so much crap in such a short period of time.
