So overall they should have picked less rehab related pop-stars, and some that were better.

I thought the ceremonies were alright. They are always going to be overwrought cheese, what did you really expect? Or is this the typical WATMM-hate-on-everything thing? I was expecting it to be a disaster but London pulled it off. Well done. But I expect all the shady shit to come up now in the aftermath and all the promised economy boosting will fall in the pockets of the few while the common man pays the bill.

Erm, OK, it was just a pop concert with a few laughs, there was nothing that bad about it, certainly not dangerous. I mean come on, I can think of much worse things to complain about, this is just... ridiculous. Why take it so seriously. It'll be forgotten soon enough anyway.

The media reaction from around the world has been very positive by the way, not just the ceremonies, but the olympics in general. I think the world is looking very favourably upon Britain at the moment, and London has been in very good spirits.

But I guess that counts for nothing, lets just be as negative as possible.

Dont get me wrong, I found the Olympics to be very good for our country. I enjoyed what I saw of the opening ceremony, and friends of mine who are working for LOCOG have had an amazing (but tiring) time the past few months.

Some people have standards rockson. If you don't well that's fine. But don't berate your betters for being more perceptive and cool than you.

The article was silly. I agree. And even worse, the author was contrasting the closing ceremony against the opening which apparently he found to be high art. Which further sullied his credibility.

I didn't watch either so I am no real position to comment.
