Read that earlier, it's crazy. What makes it worse is this bit:

In further "on the ground" Olympics news, the area outside Stratford station has essentially become one big Speaker's Corner-type theatre for local, national and international religious nutcases to come and yell their views at people as loudly as possible. I live in Stratford and pass through the station twice a day, so I've met a fair few of them.

Yesterday I saw a Christian and a Muslim having a verbal scrap. I didn't stick around to watch it play out, but I definitely heard the Christian shout "YOUR FALSE PROPHET." He had a megaphone and the Muslim guy didn't which I thought was a bit unfair.

Also, the "MCQUEEN KILLED BY FREEMASONS" guy has been there almost every day:

To be fair he's around the area quite a lot anyway. He doesn't have a megaphone, but he does put both of his hands together and yell through them. Yesterday he was getting drowned out by the aforementioned Christian, which he didn't seem too happy about. Perhaps he should team up with the Muslims.

But the best I've seen is the UFO cult. I met them last Wednesday with a huge handwritten sign which basically said the MOTHERSHIP was going to land on the following Saturday, above the stadium, and lead humankind to the next phase in its evolution. This guy had a wifebeater vest, scabby lips and a pyramid necklace on. I asked if they had any reading material or leaflets I could take away, and the guy said no. Apparently I wouldn't need them because everything would become clear when the UFO landed. His last words as I left were "IT'S DEFINITELY GONNA HAPPEN!"

Needless to say it didn't happen, and they've been absent from the station ever since. It's Stratford's loss imho. He's even got that smug look on his face that says "Yeah, I just hit you in the nuts. What are you going to do about it?"

why is watching the Olympics for retards or fascists? I don't understand this mindset; sure get angry about the sick capitalist BS built up around it, but the Olympics is a tradition I don't mind keeping.

I'm an American, and I watch other people compete besides Americans. Mindblowing, I know. It's almost like I enjoy watching top athletes excel in their sport as a celebration of human determinism and condition, rather than jingoistic masturbation. Crazy, innit

I'm more nationalistic toward Taiwan than the U.S. However, more than either of those I dislike North Korea and China.

so is it just me or did anyone see what Bela Karolyi did during the gymnastics competition the other day? i was barely watching but this girl just missed getting a bronze by a hair and Bela was in the stands and just stood up and basically told the judges to recount the girl's score. and BAM she gets a bronze. that guy is like the fucking Don of the Olympics. lol

i couldn't find anything to show which sucks cause its pretty damn funny.
