What Video Games Are You Currently Playing

I am still blown away that people buy amiibos at all. $10 for a physical DLC... what an annoying marketing scheme. AND then you end up with an expensive collection of plastic bullshit littering your place.

seeing all this news coming out that PS4.5 / PS4k is definitely a thing and coming out before PS VR.

essentially an upgraded unit with beefed up internals to handle output at 4k ??

but the only thing i can think about is = will a machine powerful enough to output games @ 4k, mean it's strong to output games at 1080 with boosted performance.

ie... i could play bloodborne in 60 FPS ???

I seriously doubt the new PS4 will output games at a native resolution of 4K, if so it shouldn't have any trouble running all of the current ps4 games at 60fps with better everything. I'm thinking the new PS4 is just VR-ready and will sell in a VR-bundle without the need for a break out box. Maybe higher specced to deliver vr compatible frame rates without sacrificing graphic quality (i.e. on par with current PS4 graphics but at double the framerate).

sfv update is pretty nice especially if you're a newb. combo challenges and demonstrations break down shit pretty decent and provide a lot of free in game currency for all the outfits they're about to roll out. shame they didn't have that shit out when the game first launched though =\

making ranked up to best of 3 is tight as fuck imo. also seem to be getting matches quicker. way more games in way less time.

That DkS3 release date really is bullshit. I really don't understand why it releases so late compared to Japan while probably every youtuber who has ~100k views per video got their english copy almost 2 weeks ago. Seeing IGN posting a video titled "This new Dark Souls 3 boss does [this] and [that]" makes me want to line all them guys up and shoot them. Isn't this a game where everyone should discover everything at the same time ? Perhaps building hype and jealousy by allowing people to make so many videos when the game ISN'T EVEN OUT YET is good for sales but still that's pretty rude.

yeah it's really lame. have no idea what they're doing.

my only real concession here is that they're treating japan as live environment stress testing and will be able to iron out the games quirks in time for the world wide release (ie. no 60 second+ load screens from bloodborne launch).

Yeah agreed, a real shame. Even Bloodborne was only with a few days of each region (Oddly, USA got it before Japan, and the UK got it a couple of days after PAL release).

Agreed on DS3. The part of this botched release that irks me most is that FromSoft is taking away a lot of the fun of the games: to discover and learn and try to piece together all the parts of the gameplay and story together along with the rest of the community. They've essentially taken that away from a huge chunk of their fanbase by staggering the release so wildly and handing out promo copies to streamers without any restrictions.

When most of the rest of the world gets the game, nearly every bit of lore and boss weaknesses and any other fun and interesting details will be readily online, high level players will be rampant to invade/troll via messages, etc. I was really hoping for a relatively blind play through given that this is the 'last' Souls game, but that has been shot to fuck. I'll still enjoy the game I'm sure, but damn did they ruin what could be been a great send off for this iteration of the series.

im still waiting for Fire Emblem: Fates to be released in the UK... talk about a pointless delay. Japan has had it for ages and America got it a couple of months ago. we don't get it til may! wtf

I hope so too, but I'm an asshole and am just gonna blame everyone while I wait for the game to be available. :'(

Yeah, I've only heard stories about the early stages of Dark Souls when there was nothing online about bosses, enemies or even mechanics. I wasn't into it at the time, but it sounded great. For DkS2 I just waited for the PC version, which came out when there was pretty much nothing to discover anymore. I really hoped for a blind playthrough this time but it's getting hard not to learn anything about the games since even if you're not trying there's like huge signs on YouTube and such about what's in the game. And since I watch a lot Dark Souls related stuff, my feed is infested.

all march sfv updates are out and up. alex is available to play for everybody for free until they figure out how to program their real money store. you can beat his story/survival/tutorials while you have free access to earn extra fight money.

FFXV demo is up on PSN and Xbox Live

Might give the demo a shot, but playing FFXIII for a couple of hours completely put me off anything to do with jrpgs for years.

FFXV will be open world though, presumably from the off. They're taking a lot of inspiration from XII for the battle system apparently.
