So the shrunken down Gamepad rumors were true, that was from like 2 years ago, crazy controller options as usual.  Another Pro Controller is welcome, as that was really the best way to play Mario Kart, the tiny split controller option I'm not too sure people with big hands will enjoy.  I'm also curious to see what multimedia and wireless functions it has, sharing, Streetpass, unlockables, and Amiibo / NFC capabilities.  Obviously, the first gen of games will be heavy on Wii U remasters, as they were great games, just on a dud of a console.  Now shut up an take my money! $$$

i don't even think remasters? they look like its just straight up playing wii u games man.

people have noted they actually appear to be updates. noticing unique hairstyles in splatoon and the fact that boo wasn't playable in mario kart. so they're not direct ports seemingly (or they'll just update the wiiu to match?)

omg.

given that wii u didn't sell super well and userbase was made up of either BIG NINTENDO FANS, or simple people choosing to believe in the wii u and invest in it, expecting people to rebuy the wii u games is going to be a massive FUCK YOU to the nintendo fanbase lololol

on one hand, it seems like a rebranding and attempt at attacking a larger demographic than the measly tiny wii u userbase. but its still funny to see how this is going to play out. i, having not purchased a wii u, personally don't give a shit and will happily buy one and buy all the wii u games i been wanting to.. but yeah lol. hmm.. HMM..

the shitty major fuck up launch of the wii u continues to hurt them. (??)

all i want out of it is 1080x60fps. also the frame rate seemed to take a massive dip when bro took zelda to the park.

yeah, there are playthrough demo vids of people playing Zelda on Wii u, at E3 and the like.. and that game makes the framerate DROP hard. so.. assuming the insides are similar to that of the wii u, i think it's fair to say you won't be getting a 60fps experience from zelda on the nx nintendo switch.

so. never played an rdr game but are all of the characters awful and unlikable like almost every gta game? looks good but not sure i can stomach another 30-50 hours playing as a character i don't like at all

personally I did not like RDR at all because of this. The environment was really nice, but the game was basically just: ride to some place, watch a cut scene with characters who seemed somehow one dimensional, ride some other place, shoot some guys on horses, ride some other place, be chased by guys on horses, shoot them, ride some other place, shoot some guys, ride some other place, etc etc..

The environment in the new trailer looks really nice,

Switch will succeed or fail based on the release of a 'proper' new Mario game

:)

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

this Switch thing looks fun, but tbh my hands hurt just from looking at the controllers

Yeah hopefully (and you know they will, it's Nintendo after all) they'll feel better than they look from the promo. Flashbacks to this cheap-feeling shocker:

Oh no - like I say it's nintendo and they know build quality - just when they slid off the handles my brain remembered the cheap plastic when I tried out the ouyabastard

Looks like the Nvidia shield tablet + clever controllers. Seems Nintendo is always one generation behind on the graphics, not that graphics are that important, but still... I don't know. I want to like it. It's ok I guess.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

why does everything nintendo does have to involve gimmicky nonsense?

i think cos they understand making a small computer that goes in the living room = direct competition with PS4/XBOX/PC.

if you want a a PS4, or an XBOX, or a PC.. get a PS4, XBOX, or PC.

nintendo target the more widespread casual audience. that means keeping price low and affordable.

they also want their systems to be 'fun', and obviously not focusing on high spec graphics ( ie. making the systems unaffordable ) means they have to go some other route in making the systems unique, interesting and fun.

it's not always the most agreeable tactic. but its what they do.

hehe.

i watched this recently ( and a bit of this (2nd vid) ) and holy shit that bastard mess was a complete MESS.

i can't even imagine how it'd feel to be a major backer of the Ouya. what a piece of shit that was

i was hoping the NX/Switch was going to be a dedicated home console rather than a hybrid home/handheld, but that video put me at ease as it looks like a full home console, just with added portability. it takes the idea of off-TV play from the Wii U and improved on it massively (which is already a great idea and something i use a lot).

i wouldn't worry about having to use the tablet controller, the regular controller got plenty of screen time in the trailer so i'm hoping/thinking it'll be included with the console.
