Runaway, you may remember this silly 80s sci-fi with Tom Selleck, Kirstie Alley, and none other than Gene Simmons as the villain. This was the first time I watched it as an adult and the first time I noticed that the whole premise of the movie (and even parts of the soundtrack) are like someone played a game of Chinese whispers with Blade Runner as the message. And no matter how stupid the film and plot are, its boxy piece of crap robots were actually a surprisingly accurate vision of the future. Think robot mowers, drones, and self-driving cars instead of Blade Runner's androids.

The bank heist scene is almost as good as the Malcolm bank heist scene from 1986. Tom Selleck plays a good goodie don't he?

These teaser trailers are annoying as fuck, they have literally no footage to show. Because they haven't even filmed it yet! Go and make the film instead of wasting time teasing people and we will see you in a year when you have something to show. FUCK!!!

No jewelry heist either in Runaway but I had a look through Selleck's filmography and I guess you're thinking of Lassiter (which I haven't seen by the way).

I watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show for the first time.

My life will NEVER be the same again. Not really sure if it's for better or worse, but I'm ok with that.

The Nice Guys. 5/10

Pretty mediocre mainstream buddy cop comedy. A couple decent laughs but a lot of awkward weird laughter in the theater during disturbing violent bits. Did a few callbacks to jokes that weren't even that funny to begin with. Tone was a little weird. Also almost no advertising for the most important character in the film, Ryan Goslings daughter. Not really sure if the movie knew what it was trying to be.

Alita: Battle Angel will be released on July 20, 2018. I've been waiting to see this movie for almost 15 years now. Yeah it better be good. From what I remember, Cameron had all the concept art done, so I'm guessing with him producing, Rodriguez might be going that direction. They were also throwing around Harrison Ford's name as the Professor back in the day, who knows who will play that role now.
