hmmm, nope. they targeted some communications stuff used by hamas on the roof, some journalists residing in the building were injured, that's it basically.

also, i just noticed a blatant wikipedia misquote regarding that incident, sam kiley, the correspondent for sky news, says that "there's no reason necessarily to disbelieve that (the idf version)" while wiki quote is the opposite of that: "Sam Kiley, a correspondent for Sky News who was present during the attack, said that there was 'reason to disbelieve' Israel's official account of the incident.."

it was in direct response to Baph's post about his freemasons, not the french revolution.

I'd gladly claim ownership over the freemasons, but I don't think they'd like me very much when I lol in their faces mid-ritual and tell them to stick to playing checkers.

On the other hand, I guess I could let my man tits grow out and convince a few credulous types that I am actually Baphomet :emotawesomepm9:

edit: holy fucking jahbulon, what happened to the quoting mechanism, watmm?

edit: I just got myself on some secret kill list, didn't I?

seems to me that the IDF at best doesn't give a shit either way. It took Netanyahu's stooge a live TV appearance before he apologized for blowing off a reporters leg in an attack, when before he was completely un apologetic and alluded to it happening again since RT has 'taken a side' otherwise known as a vieled threat. Abby didn't accuse them of specifically targeting journalists until the Netanyahu spokesperson attempted to scare the RT offices with his harshly worded unapologetic letter. and do you think anyone from the Israeli government would ever admit they targeted journalists? of course not, just like how the US never admitted that they intentionally attacked Al Jazeera offices over 3 times in Iraq</p>

Uh you might want to check the sky news report you linked to, since it writes:

"Sky's Middle East Correspondent Sam Kiley, who was in the building when it was hit, said there was reason to disbelieve Israel's reason for the attack."

It's probably not a war crime though, because it doesn't seem like IDF is violating the Principle of Proportionality as laid out by the Laws of Armed Combat.

Shout outs to the saracens, musulmen and celestials.

lol indeed, that's even more facepalm then ! skynews misquotes its own journalist and then wiki people simply copy-paste it, watch the video itself where the journo says exactly that: "there's no reason necessarily to disbelieve that (the idf version)" at 4:30.

no one would admit to anything against their own interests and you'll never have all of the info to know the absolute truth, but that's not a good enough reason to completely ignore the other side's narrative and go with your own theory as if nothing happened. the idea is to constantly doubt and check yourself, you can't claim that RT is seriously admitting to that ideal.

Still discussing this? How about the recent UN convention? We could congratulate the Palestinians for having become a state.

And why o why would Netanyahu want to punish them for it? Would it be that far off for Israel to congratulate their neighbours on becoming a state? It would be the adult thing to do, despite their personal feelings, imo.

I'm not making any claim on behalf of RT, i'm going by what my sister's interactions were with the twat Netanyahu stooge who tried to act like a tough guy but is ultimately a giant pussy. Dude tried to backpeddle on live TV and act like he didn't in private make a veiled death threat to staff at Russia Today for 'taking a side', but the problem is he did. He tried to act like some mafia don and basically said since Russia Today 'picked a side' that the IDF 'cant protect them' what else is that except for an intimidation attempt? You see Abby never said anything about it on her show until this stooge sent a threatening letter to the RT offices, he probably expected that issuing veiled death threats would scare them, fortunately his tactics did not work.

That's what I was thinking, although I somehow believe the veiled death threat hasn't got anything to do with aggressive Arabs.

is this the video you are referring to?

i mean abby definitely tears the guy up, but i don't hear anything referring to a death threat?

edit: wait, the reference to the "letter"?

lol awkward conclusion there.

it's going to be so great when the refugees get to go back home for real.

i wonder if the Israeli's will blow up all all their homes and buildings when/if they are made to give the land back, like the residents of Hero Township did in the Little House on the Prarie series finale when the railroad tycoon obtained the deeds to the land and evicted the whole town. an "if we can't have it noone can" situation.

what's so great about having millions of people who hate each other clash again en-masse ? why not give each refugee household a compensation as a solution ?

it's good that you popped up though, i remember you are a palestinian immigrant living in usa, right ?

There will be no en-masse clash; people will eventually demand to live as equals bound together by shared ties to this place. You can't put a dollar sign on that and it's got to happen for like, psyches to heal and all that.

My dad was 2 years old when his ancestral home was shelled by the haganah and his family fled to hide in a cave en route to gtfo for their survival. I never have and never will never set foot in that dump of a "state" or its little bantustans...but I will visit it in a different form someday.

the return of refugees, imo, is a return to situation where two people with opposing national identities and overlapping territorial claims live at each other necks, just as they were in 47 (and before). the first stage of 47-48 war is often called civil war for a reason..

i do realize the justice of such demand, but most of the time you only get directly rewarded for achieving such romantic manifestations of justice in fantasy-rpg video games.

personally, if someone offered, i would fuck off to some canada or any other decent place for a couple of hundred of thousands of dollas faster than you can say "mahmoud abbas". not to say that israel is really bad to an average citizen, it's just a bit too crazy and unpredictable.

These base opposing national identities are #1 fairly new and #2 arent sustainable and there are other notions of self floating around that havent gotten a foothold yet. And it is mischaracterization to say that it was a civil war pre-48. my grandparents grew up in a teensy town with at least two jewish palestinian families that lived there for generations. There were no turf squabbles and they were not the ones who shelled and bulldozed the Arab houses.. they were integral members of the community (which as an aside had sampson's tomb as its claim to fame...as in Sampson & Delilah). My grandparents farmed (made the desert bloom, if you will) and one of the Jewish families had a doctor and I'm not sure about the others...... I'm guessing there's no zinn-style required reading in Israeli high schools. Anyway, you seem so patriotic that I doubt you would sell out so easily as you say. And if you did, we might never get the chance to be neighbors, Eugene!

veiled death threat ? lol, i think you're being a bit paranoid here

I'm sorry that you don't believe your government is ran by psychotic people that try to intimidate reporters from doing their job as journalists. Don't really know what else to say. But it must feel good to call someone else paranoid who has absolutely no idea what i'm talking about (directed at Gödel as well) while my sister is on the front lines of ruffling the feathers of one of the most advanced spying and military operations on the entire planet

brah, there are much more serious and much more educated and therefore much more effective critics of israel living inside israel proper, check every other editorial in haaretz (even its english edition) for example, and i assure you none of them got got or even threatened by the government. i know you feel proud of your sister being so exposed and such but she's pretty much meaningless to israeli government, and to anyone who wants to study the conflict seriously.

i know it's tough to wrap your head around all of israel's contradictions but you gotta try at least.

honestly I think abby is ridiculously pro-active and passionate about her job which is rarely seen in this last generation of old-dog news reporters who are more concerned with hierarchy and diplomacy with their sources. This can only be a good thing. The only thing I think Abby needs to work on is the simple gaining of professional experience. The odd slur or stumble can only be improved with time, and if she sticks to it, it certainly will.

Maybe she's not Public Enemy No.1 on Israel's list....but she had to have been effective somehow to meet any kind of resistance from the Israeli government.
