Unfortunately this complete interview transcript is behind a paywall, but thought it was worth creating a post for it. Not sure if signing up for the "free" preview gets you access to it, but maybe someone wants to fall on the sword to pay for it and Perhaps Maybe share it.

Hi. I'm Chris, the writer, editor, and publisher of Thoughts of a Certain Sound.

I've been writing about music my entire life and, for better or worse, it is my career.

Getting paid as a writer is hard, to say the least. I work hard on writing—I spend anywhere between 15-30 hours per week on the website and newsletter, writing, editing, designing, and publishing, above and beyond my day job (about 28-32 hours per week). I also spend hundreds of dollars per year on hosting and software to make this website possible. I also pay the visual artists (photographers, illustrators, designers) that I work with and have plans to expand the website to host other people's writing, and pay them for it, too.

If you're interested in reading the interview, I would ask, kindly and respectfully, that you pay to support my work—and help me offset the fees I spend to keep this thing running. (Ironically, maybe, I paid to join this forum to post this message.)

Accordingly, if you do pay to sign up and read the interview (thank you!) I would also ask, respectfully, that you not share it with others, as my paywall is, for better or worse, necessary.

Thanks for reading.

I think it accepts other methods, although I'm not totally certain (tech stuff is not my forte). I think besides credit cards, the site accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App, and "Link" although I'm not sure exactly what that is.

I really appreciate everyone's support. I have a lot more work coming down the pipeline that I'm excited to publish and share. Thanks for reading and supporting.
