most underwhelming (and seeing as no-one mentioned it watmm agrees): grizzly bear - shields

just didnt want to hear it once i heard it

I agree it is very underwhelming. There are only a couple tracks that really grab me, but not as much as just about any song off Veckatemist. That said, their live show is even stronger now, and the new songs did kick ass live. One key difference between the recordings and the live show is that the drums are way more prominent live, and their drummer is one of the most interesting and clever players I've had the privilidge of seeing. I don't think his contribution gets highlighted enough in the recordings, especially for the songs where the drums really drive it.

Yeah I've got to do a round up soon. Probably voting ready by the 15th and then people can vote through the new year. Don't want to leave out anything that gets an 11th hour release in 2012. Maybe I'll wait even longer seeing as it's not over. I don't know the future like Bleep and Boomkat do.

It's over when you say it's over. You started it. You're the authority! Bleep? Boomkat? Don't know any of them.

those drums live are nothing short of epic. the rhythm section is just gigantic and pristine. id kill if their records sounded like that.

totally agree.

I thought that kick drum was going to go through my chest. haven't felt that at a show in quite a while with it sounding so crisp. they certainly know their sound well.
