1991 - High Tech High Life

Yeah? I knew you weren't too impressed with the self-titled release. I like knowing that of the one I own is the SPD² approved release.

LOL, nah I never meant it was bad. They're both pretty good. I don't have the s/t one yet, but I got this one because it's vinyl. I just had some issues w/ the style. Had a couple beers, I think I'm over it.

anyone that could link me up to previous years results? i can only find the 2011 topic, this was done before right?..

Я твой слуга, Я твой работник

Death Grips - TMS

Aesop Rock - Skelethon

Swans - The Seer (personal AOTY)

Ametsub - All is Silence

Andy Stott - Luxury Problems

Burial - Kindred

How do we go about finalizing these lists and declaring WATMM's AOTY

Anyone else get the feeling that Scott Walker's Bish Bosch just came and blew all other albums out of the water of this year?

Not at all. Can't be bothered to listen to Scott Walkers music.

About a week after New Years, I'll make a voting thread.

Have we ever had a non-electronic album win?

not sure, but as far as odds of it happening go

iinstrumental electronic not idm - fo shizzle

something electronic with vocals - ehhhhm maybe, if they're weird textual vocals

something that isn't primarily synth/sample/crazy effects based - not a chance b

like, i could envision a pop album or a soundtrack or a hip hop album winning (maybe death grips will even pull it off?!), but folk/indie rock/jazz/funk/etc probably won't because spaceman techno is this forum's first love

1991 - High Tech High Life

Cygnus - Cybercity Z-ro

Grizzly Bear - Shields

Legowelt - The Paranormal Soul

Rudi Zygadlo - Tragicomedies

Last Step - Sleep

King Creosote & Jon Hopkins - Diamond Mind (Jubilee Edition)

Nathan Fake - Steam Days

The Caretaker - Patience After Sebald

Did Anyone mention Converge's new emo titled one? I haven't heard it yet, but their last two albums were pretty much my first and second favorite metal albums of the decade, so this one's probably in the same boat. Consider this my official nomination of that album.

El-P - Cancer For Cure

Grischa Lichtenberger - And IV (Inertia)

Hecker - Chimerization

Lightning Bolt - Oblivion Hunter

Lil B - God's Father

Scald Rougish - Bardachd

Stephan Laubner - Unreleased Experimentals 2

Terrence Dixon - From The Far Future pt.2

The Money Store by Death Grips

Mista Thug Isolation by Lil Ugly Mane

札幌コンテンポラリー by 情報デスクVIRTUAL (aka Vektroid)

Shader by Sacred Tapestry (also Vektroid)

Hmm, I feel like I've listened to mostly single tracks this year. Can't think of too many albums.
