I think Mr Oizo played a substantial role in getting that album off the ground as well, and i would argue that with the combination of Oizo's production help and Jackson's inventiveness that bands like Justice, Sebastian and most of the Ed Banger roster owe a lot to that single album. For coming out in 1999 this album was pretty ahead of it's time. I know basic channel and pole were around but i would count his output from this period as equally as important to this whole off-shoot of dub. Smash would be a toughie to follow up. SPD mentioned VHS Head and I do remember thinking they sounded similar when I first heard Trademark Ribbons...
