Yes! I remember hearing a Beefcake track on a local college station late at night and frantically writing down their name and track name onto a scrap of paper in my car to look up later. They were on Hymen Records if I recall correctly.

I'm surprised they aren't, at least not as much as Datach'i or Vsnares, they've made some really cool tracks. I remember watching that breakcore doc from years back and Xanopticon was the only producer that really peaked my interest.

Discogs shows he remixed and produced here and there - otherwise he more or less disappeared. I know it's been mentioned in other threads.

Yeah seriously, that guy needs to keep making music. I would pay top dollar for a follow-up to smash.

Also, Terminal 11 are pretty sweet.

i think from what i've gathered on the board is that he sort of fell off the map due to his fondness for ketamine. I think Mr Oizo played a substantial role in getting that album off the ground as well, and i would argue that with the combination of Oizo's production help and Jackson's inventiveness that bands like Justice, Sebastian and most of the Ed Banger roster owe a lot to that single album.

some tracks off my favorite album of his, it's actually spelled Kit Clayton in case anyone was confused. For coming out in 1999 this album was pretty ahead of it's time. I know basic channel and pole were around but i would count his output from this period as equally as important to this whole off-shoot of dub.

Watmm's own Greenbank. His ep for benbecula is still worth tracking down.

Also Signer, in particular Low Light Dreams. One of may favourite ever tracks below, which I think I first heard on a mixtape Xela did for boomkat. And there's another one, Xela.

I also recall reading (probably here) that a debilitating perfectionism has kept him from deeming anything worthy of release since then. Could be the ketamine too for all I know.

Smash would be a toughie to follow up. SPD mentioned VHS Head and I do remember thinking they sounded similar when I first heard Trademark Ribbons...

I'd believe the debilitating perfectionism theory. Smash does sound like one of the most labored over Warp releases ever, and he sounds like a very self critical person in the interviews I've seen.
