the way you answered made me picture you as one of those annoying facebook activists who fill the news feed with photos of starving dogs and such...

i din't say i was against it, neither that we have a better solution, i just said it is sad, and asked if it also made you sad...

i mean, my cat got sad the days after, no way denying it... and i'm almost sure it affects them from then on...

I imagine it is quite liberating to not have a constant urge to get off.

There will be new love from the ashes of us.

You'll die anyway. In the mean time, take up the sage advice of Vince Offer: stop eating boring tuna, stop having a boring life.

GHOST: have you killed Claudius yet
HAMLET: no
GHOST: why
HAMLET: fuck you is why
im going to the cemetery to touch skulls

do blind people dream in sounds?

Blind people can see things in their minds eye as well, in fact, I would imagine they are generally quite a bit better at it. I would say that their dreams are probably just the same as anyone else's just with the imagery being a bit more abstract.

i don't get it, if they were never stimulated by light, how can that be? what is a shape if you have no light?

if you have no memory of an image or sound how can you dream about it?

even the subconscious stuff, everything you have there is recorded in memory right? it's a mix of fragments of recorded stuff no?

If you're really curious about it, I would suggest you do some research. I read that blind people visualize sound in their day to day life, so even though they can't see, they can get a visual approximation of what's going on based on the position of sounds & their associations with those sounds.

could be wrong or misremembering, but I am 100% confident, at least, that the blind can imagine visual images of things.

edit: in response to your edit, I don't think that's true. I have visualized and dreamed about lots of things that are completely alien to my experiences, some of which are very abstract.

rather than just saying what i think, i thought i'd find a study or whatever to back it up

"and those who became blind in infancy do not have visual imagery in their dreams, whereas those blinded in adolescence or young adulthood often retain visual mental imagery in their waking life and in their dreams"

im pretty sure that a blind person can visualize shapes. just not certain details in the objects. they have hands, which they use to create the shape in their mind. thats why theyll touch someones face to get a rough approximation of what they look like. so it leads me to believe that they could then be able to dream of those shapes.

it wouldn't be imagery though

if you'd never heard a sound, you wouldn't be able to imagine a sound by watching the action that produces a sound. blindly touching something only creates an image of it in your mind if you've seen things before. i think people get confused because people who haven't always blind experience mental imagery from touch (just like anyone does).
